The story goes (or so he says) was that he placed a very large bet on a long-shot wager. Apparently the amount he was entitled to after winning was in the range of 8-900k. Of course, Norm did not place this bet with a 'legitimate' organization.. a "bookie" if you will, for the folks at home. He never saw that man again, I tell you what.
Also he told a story about how he was gambling on a cruise specifically for that vice and he decided that he was 'sick of it' so he took a suitcase that was packed either with real money or high-value chips and literally threw it over board.
