I was driving around with a couple of comics last night, we started talking about O&A. Dude played the "Jamaican Jimmy" clip when they found out a-BIG A was married to some Trinidadian woman or something.
The whole thing is super funny, for like 4 minutes straight it's just Ant and Jimmy hammering on Big A, the entire studio is laughing. At the apex of it, Opie stops everyone to read some kind of AWFUL listener feedback, which completely stops the entire room. He even had to acknowledge it was a bomb. Everyone in my car was just disgusted, like across the board everyone hates Opie. He's a fucking fun ruiner.
It honestly sounded like one of those times you were at work bullshitting, busting balls or on some kind of funny tear, and then you saw the boss coming and had to disperse. They get back into it, and the second Opie gets a chance, he stops to read ONE angry listener comment saying it's not funny. What horrendous creative instincts and lack of self awareness.
