i saw joe materese open in philly for bill burr a year or two ago and his entire set was just him talking about how he's from philly, even though he said hes from cherry hill new jersey, and just trying the "hey see guys i'm just like you??? hey rocky and italians and shit" it was fucking garbage
He is stepping dangerously into Opie territory, so this is a pivotal moment for him. If he pulls it off with some amount of self awareness then maybe I will have an ounce of respect for him.
