I completely agree with you. Ant's unique personality carried the O&A show for the last few years in my opinion. Opie lived a boring life, Jim would be tired from jerking off all night but Ant would just come flying out the blocks with rage about some completely trivial matter.
I think on TACS while he can still occasionally be funny, he's lost the authenticity to pull off that persona.
He got fired for 'racially motivated' tweets. Before that, he thought Negroes were an avoidable inconvenience, but after his firing he believes they have unfair influence over people. As far as he sees it he has been persecuted so now he is lashing out in revolt.
Because I'm desperately trying to avoid real life, Ive relistened to old shows many times. He goes off the rails when Obama is about to win the Democratic nomination. Listen to the shows leading up to November 2008. He keeps reassuring himself a black man cant be President.
I still enjoyed him after that point. His rants were often the most enjoyable parts of those shows. He was mostly correct, too. But it came from a bad place.

So Trump winning would have the opposite effect?

Was I the only one who still enjoyed Anthony when he was going on about Trayvon Martin every day? I always found his rage to be hilarious.
It only worked on O&A, though. When he spent every day ranting about blacks in his basement without Jimmy there, it lost its charm.

Dementia can have slow and subtle personality changes. After a while they get violent ( dani) and forget things ( where the fuck is my gun?)
