If I may be serious for a minute, we had a Husky, sweet dog, when I was 7. Ended up finding out he had a birth defect, common from over-breeding, and he had a shunt in his liver that was slowly killing him. He was barely past being a puppy. My Dad took him in to be put down, even went in the room so he had a familiar face to keep him comfortable when they did it. My Dad, grown man and tough SOB, bawled his eyes out.
I've had three cats put down. All great animals, the last one a real sweetheart. She had to be put down at four years old, fluid building in her lungs. Such a loving, selfless creature, and my Mom still thinks it's her fault three years on (it wasn't though, just genetics).
Thanks, man. My parents have two good ones now: a fat little whiner who's my pal when I visit, and an orange Tabby that follows my Dad like a loyal dog. The World is a great place when you find good people and good animals.

My pit/boxer needed almost no training at all. Her first 8 months was spent with frat kids who never walked her and kept her cooped up. Since I've gotten her, she can be trusted with dragging her leash behind her while she walks beside me.
Pitbulls are incredibly smart and loyal if you train them right. And in reality, classic family dogs, like Labs and Retrievers have the highest child bites per capita. Labs and Retrievers don't wait for their owner to command them, they go after people if they percieve any step towards the family or person they want to protect. I've always socialized my dogs, and that's how you get any pit and terriar mixes better around strangers. Walk them and let them meet strangers.
How are they the best dogs? what do they do that other dogs can't? there not even the top ten smartest dogs, there not that cute.
The only reason I can think of is white people looked at some news stories of dog fighting and go hey there not bad dogs i'm going to rescue or adopt one, even tho they have 256 pounds of biting force and the risk if you f up raising greater then most.
What does it matter what a dog does? Unless you are hunting or using it as a guard dog that doesn't matter. And yeah some pits are ugly but blue nosed ones aren't.
I have a 9 year old pit/boxer mix I rescued at eight months whos been the best dog I've ever owned. I couldn't imagine giving up my dog. Feel terrible for Bill.

Can't say I blame Bill after reading a story about some parents who left their sleeping baby alone in a room with two pit bulls. The pit bulls gnawed off the baby boy's junk while they were gone. If you're going to be a crappy parent, it's probably best to play it safe and get rid of the pit bull.

The problem is that a lot of these people get rescue dogs and think they can rehabilitate them. Cleooooooo was used in dog fights before Billy got her. Sadly, she should've been put down or given to someone who was not going to abandon her.

My pit/boxer needed almost no training at all. Her first 8 months was spent with frat kids who never walked her and kept her cooped up. Since I've gotten her, she can be trusted with dragging her leash behind her while she walks beside me.
Pitbulls are incredibly smart and loyal if you train them right. And in reality, classic family dogs, like Labs and Retrievers have the highest child bites per capita. Labs and Retrievers don't wait for their owner to command them, they go after people if they percieve any step towards the family or person they want to protect. I've always socialized my dogs, and that's how you get any pit and terriar mixes better around strangers. Walk them and let them meet strangers.
