I think it's pretty obvious that the Steiner appearances are paid spots. Jim and Sam gave this the minimal amount of effort they possibly could and they both seemed annoyed at points that they even had to be dealing with this Steiner asshole. Either that, or this it's a favor to Steiner from Jim for getting one of his faggoty celeb pics signed by an athlete.

Or they want to kill a chunk of the 15 hour week blathering about sports with a guy who spends most of his time relating "interesting" sports-related "knowledge". I hate all of it, but this guy is actually a speaker first and every other part of his job comes second. Again I think it stinks, but I understand why talk shows take him.

As opposed to say, Steven Singer or Jim Koch, it's what he does and he practices it.

Steiner has spoken at Harvard, Columbia, Yale, Financial Executives International, Manhattanville College, Syracuse University and others.

One time, Steiner Sports ran a Facebook contest for free tickets to the Big East Championship for the first person to reply with the answer to a trivia question.

It didn't specify a game, it just said "2 Free Big East Tournament Tickets."

For context, the tournament was starting the very next day, but it goes for about a week and I live about 6 hours away, so I was more than willing to drive there for the championship game or whatever.

I Googled the answer, was first, and didn't get any kind of reply on Facebook or anything. Eventually they just said "congrats, your tickets are on the way!"

Two days later, my mail shows up with tickets....to a game from the day before.

Even if I lived directly next door to fucking MSG, I would've received tickets one day after the game was played.

TL;DR - Fuck Steiner Sports.
