I think he is the typical baby boomer racist that throws N bombs around his house and honestly does look down on other races but at the end of the day he treats pretty much everyone respectfully and fairly. The Liberals say that these (FBI) statistics are skewed, but I take the train every day. Just common sense tells me I'm 100 times more likely to be fucked with by a Black person than a White one. In my whole history as a NYer, I have only been harassed or menaced by ONE White Person using the train/bus. That is sharp contrast to the DOZENS of Blacks who have antagonized me, menaced me, attempted to assault me, tried to rob people in front of me, etc.

There is nothing wrong with racism dude. Who cares if he is? Race is a reality and evolution is real. Different groups of large, genetically and geographically isolated human groups have evolved different proclivities, levels of intelligence, bone-structure etc. There's nothing wrong with noticing this.

Racism is a product of culture and experience in most cases. LI in the 60s and 70s is the go-to case study of housing discrimination in US history. As black people moved in they were harassed to move out for fear of a drop in housing pricing. Ants dad was undeniably was part of this culture.

Also Ant was bullied by black kids. They took his milk money, and as we all know ant didn't have much food. So that plays into it of course.

I believe he may have discriminated and yes it just makes good business sense. I work with a 38 year-old Black guy who has never had a bank account or a credit card. THIRTY-EIGHT! And he is a Dad!! This is not the first time I have encountered someone financially illiterate like this. I guess somewhere in the Appalachian Mountains or in the deep South, Whites with a similar level of financial ignorance exist, but I haven't seen them here in NYC.

My maternal grandparents had a 7th and 5th grade education, yet had healthy bank accounts and never broke a lease. I read an article about the average net worth of a Black woman being $5. I believe that to be hyperbole, yet there is a nugget of truth in it. From personal observations, I'd say a new hair hat or a pair of Jordans is easily more important to a lot of them than paying rent or starting a college fund.
