Jimmy sure did make a good impression. With that and the way he acted when Nick came on J&S. Nice work acting completely uninterested & eating up his time making a stupid video.
Sam had good chemistry with Nick. It really was pretty darn good.
Jim I think felt like an old guy there. Nick is what, 27 years old? Think about it this way, Jim's career is in the same place it was in 2004 when O&A returned to the airwaves, while Nick was 15. Jim has seen SOOO many comics just basically pass him. He hears Nick and Sam kind of having bullshit small talk about tech stuff, something Stupid Norton knows nothing about and gets jealous! Aww! Sweetie!
I think this is it. Jim sees that Nick has the potential to pass him by, so he gets his petty shittiness out now while Nick is still poor living in a closet of some Oriental family.
I didn't listen but that sounds like a description of Joe Rogan.
Whenever someone on his podcast would lightheartedly say something hyperbolic, he would immediately ask "what do you mean" or "what is that" bringing the conversation to an awkward screeching halt over what should have been a brushed aside one off comment, even if Joe didn't get it.
How can anyone not see how much of a scumbag move that is, the moment him and his friend start selling barbarian coffee is the same time he start bashing the bullet coffee guy. If he stop selling or making money off coffee all together then I know he's doing it for integrity
I was gonna say exactly this, it's such a Rogan thing. I went to see Greg Fitzsimmons 50th podcast episode this year live at the Comedy Store, and he had Rogan on the show with him along with Mike Gibbons. Gibbons is fast and funny for an old guy, and the amount of times Rogan brought the show to a screeching halt with his lack of any kind of improv skills or ability to "yes, and" anything was terrifying.
Jimmy seems to be doing it more and more, which makes me sad. (War is bad)
Jim always does this on other people's podcasts. It's like he doesn't have the ability to joke around with people anymore. Not without doing a character every 2 minutes. This isn't a hyperbolic "Jim isn't funny" post, he can still be hilarious when he's in his comfort zone.
Pontificating Jim brought the show to a halt multiple times when Nick was joking, it was painful to listen to. He's just not funny anymore to me. His cutesy horseshit is beyond annoying and he thinks he's smarter than he is. I'm tired of the retarded interactions of fake irony between him and Sam.
It's just so fucking repetitive. Every interaction is Sam playing the straight man, acting clueless, and Jim either trying to do some cutesy bullshit, OR, he'll also play the straight man. It's tedious and unfunny. Like you said, Jim isn't trying, he's just phoning it in.
A lot of the more repetitive stuff is not even funny in the first place.
Every time Jim intentionally mispronounces a word and they have some flirty interaction over it (which is pretty much word for word the same every time) I really question why I'm bothering to listen.
I wouldn't blame them. I'm listening to Cum Town and it's pretty good, but that Stavros douche never stops laughing obnoxiously. It's so damn annoying.
i dont know whos who on the podcast, but speaking of annoying laugh i was listening to the most recent one and some fag kept laughing non stop, and that remind me a lot of sam roberts. remember that freak used to keep a poker face when patrice and everyone was laughing in the studio
Sam fake laughs all the time, he's a little douche. I can recognize Mullen and Stravros' voices cuz I saw Stavros on TACS or some shit at one point. I don't know who the other guy is, but Mullen is probably the only funny one I've heard on that shit so far.
Jim could not have been less funny on Cum Town or the J&S show with Nick. Talking about his stupid fucking app really made me hate him yesterday.
I actually agree with the other guy that it seemed like Jim had a problem with Nick. There's no way he didn't realize how bad he was making the show - he would constantly redirect potentially funny setups to talk about the same shit over and over.
He probably has some weird grudge he's holding that he's never actually brought up to Nick like he did with DL Hughley.
Come to think of it I can't remember Jim ever supporting a younger generation comic that doesn't have a vagina he could possibly do sex with. Not that most of the other young comedians are funny.
i think i remember wrong, maybe it was burr. whenever burr was in studio he would completely cramp up and dont speak for hours, then interrupt the flow of the show if burr was in a row
It was a disgusting hybrid of "serious Jim/old man incompetent with simple technology Jim". It was infuriating to listen to him suck the air out of the room for no positive gains with the funniest, most versatile comedian they've had in a while. It really was like his bizarrely unfunny Cum Town appearance all over again.
I think he was actually annoyed with sam for the aggressively condescending attitude, and then a little embarrassed when sam made a video in 5 seconds, and then confused when that ken idiot called and tried to help.
I think there's some truth to this, but I seems to me Jim likes Nick and might even be working with him. The fact that he did Cum Town and brought him on J&S, plus I thought I picked things up that made it seem like Jim might be working with him on other things.
I know nick has done some writing for Jim before - I think on his Vice show. Who knows, maybe he likes Nick but the way he was disrupting that show seemed clearly intentional to me.
I dont think it was because there was one other time when it was just him and Sam and he was fiddling with his phone. That time it was more back and forth talking about the issue but it was still all over the place because Jim just kept messing with his phone.
he won't read anything but celeb bio's.. he won't watch any stand-up specials ... he won't watch a movie or tv show unless they are coming in for quick interview .... he doesn't want to try anything new at all; so this will always happen with newer comedians
Seriously, is he spending ALL of his free time sending dick pics and tweedling his nipples? No wife, no kids, hours and hours of free time every day, and his only discernible hobbies are chess, MMA, and sexual deviancy.
There's a bit where Nick talks about how comedians convince themselves that by being on podcasts and radio constantly they are keeping their wit and humour sharp when really they're just deluding themselves cos they can just phone it in, Jim might not have liked that.
The fact that that old, one trick pony acts like a little slighted boy when any talented young comic comes on just shows what a one dimensional hack he has become.
Nick Mullen is as funny at this point his career than Jim Borden has ever been.
J&S is shire and Sam's night time attitude was exponentially superior.
So because no one laughed at the "Brian Setzer Orchestra" joke, that was Jim's problem?
This guy ain't got the chops. Sorry to break it to you.
*Listen Nick, if you're going to put yourself out there, you're going to have to accept the negative criticism without going on DV brigades against your critics. Grow some balls.

That fucking video app "discussion" was the WORST radio I've heard in a long time. Fuck Jimmy for wasting everyone's time.

Deep down Jimmy thinks he's some elder statesman of comedy, and for this he should be beaten mercilessly.

There is no way Jim's career is the same as 2004, ona was a big draw

Yeah I was excited to listen to Big Jay on Rogan's podcast and Big Jay would exaggerate something for a joke and Rogan would question it.
I think Rogan does that since he got burned by the one guy shilling his mycotoxin free coffee and it turned out every coffee is mycotoxin free
2 Hunter_Cumia 2016-11-30
Didn't Rogan and his friend copied the coffee idea then start calling the original dude autistic

One of the youtube comments for the recent episode with Jason Ellis says:
It really does seem like that sometimes.
I think that Sam, who definitely is obnoxious at times, is doing the best he can. Jim is not.
