Music is subjective, but the jury hasnt been "out" on Black Sabbath for decades. They've already found the mountain and made their way to the top. As for paying real money to listen to 3 hours of Jim Norton talking about sucking tranny dick (and Sam laughing like it's a Bill Burr closing bit)....I dont know how much room that gives you to judge the first 4 Black Sabbath albums.
If you don't like hard rock or metal.. I get it. A band like Sabbath isn't your thing. I have never met a hard rock / metal fan who disliked Sabbath...EVER. I can see not digging most of the stuff they did without Ozzy, but most of those records are barely considered Sabbath records.
People use Ozzy and Sabbath interchangeably. It's like using Micky Mouse and disney interchangeably. Ozzy (and mickey) were the worst parts. Jimmy should be trying to wipe Iomi's ass, not Ozzys.
Even they know that's a load of shit. The first 4 Metallica records are fantastic. I can almost stomach the black album. Most of what they have done since then is fucking horrible. When Burton died, the band I loved died with him. I don't blame them for being more commercial as years went on, but they turned into everything they vowed to never become.
and without Sabbath they wouldn't exist. They owe Ozzy a big debt of gratitude. He took them out on their first arena tour in 86. I was lucky enough to see them on that tour, and they blew Ozzy off the stage. Not even a year later Burton died.
