I bought a MAGA hat as a goof, and I wore it to Europe on vacation.
First thing I noticed was that rich privileged Americans gave me the stink eye like I was wearing a swastika hat at Auschwitz. (And my grandma was interned at Auschwitz!)
But when I came home, posted the pics on fb, and got unfriended by four people, that's when I really started to realize these Hillary supporters were a bunch of pompous cunts.
I even emailed one of the friends that unfriended me, to explain that the whole thing was a goof, and got no response. I knew the dude for six years.
And THAT got me thinking Trump is on to something...
At the risk of SAMCRO Joeing it... About year and a half ago or so... someone gave me an Amazon bootleg $10 Trump shirt, it was right after he'd announced. I wore it that weekend as a 100% joke.
In one day I got yelled at an ATM and at some shitty beer garden where people take their kids on the weekends (my fault for going there; I need better friends).
This is in BK by where I've lived for five or so years... walk into the ATM and some fat black chick starts going, "Oh no you aren't." I take off my headphones and ask what's up. "Oh no, no you aren't wearing that shirt. Uh unh." "Leave me alone." "Oh no, I can't believe you be wearing that shirt." "Nobody's commenting and the stupid shit you're wearing." I'm no Opie in his prime, but I'm 6'3, middle aged, in decent shape, covered in tattoos sniff and she starts telling her boyfriend, "Can you believe he's wearing that?!" He had the good sense to just go, "Whatever, who cares?" Then... "WHO CARES?!" "You're just going to..." and he drags her out of the little terminal thing.
At the beer garden thing these middle aged parents start asking me these policy questions and why I would ever support the guy. This was completely unprovoked and from a different table. I politely try to disengage by saying "it's a joke." They would not let up. "Well I don't see why you'd wear the shirt and not be willing to ask questions." "Ok, thanks for your opinion." Finished the beer and we left.
Shit was so annoying. I'm almost 40 and never in my life have I ever commented on someone's t-shirt to start and argument, or to preach to them. It's fucking maddening.
The thing that "inspired" me was that some chick I used to fuck moved to France, and she'd mentioned that she tells people that she's Canadian. And I just thought that was so insufferable, to lie to people about where you're from.
So I thought to myself "what's the most American thing I can wear on a European vacation?"
And that's a tricky one, because a lot of American things have been co-opted by the entire world. Nikes are American, but they sell them everywhere. An American flag shirt is just silly, and it's so over-the-top, people might think I'm a Russian tourist and I'm being ironic.
So what's left? I know, a MAGA hat.
So I bought one, and got a reaction I'd never expected. And as mentioned in the other post, I had a relative in Auschwitz and my relatives are of European descent, so I don't really look like an American tourist.
Yes. When you start off with LITERALLY HITLER! unless he opens concentration camps, people will look at the economy and as long as it isn't in freefall probably re-elect him and wonder what the fuss was about.
They're trying to find a reason why they lost and can't see the problem was that their candidate was fawkin gahbage (dvv dvv).
It's insane how quickly the left, reddit especially, clings onto any buzzwords or reasons that the media starts hurling at them. You never saw the words fake news or white nationalists typed until the media started telling them that's what's happening.
Kind of ironic how the story about fake news is actually fake news.
Yeah, so he can shut down newspapers. He specifically said that he wants to make newspapers easier to sue. He wants to chip away at your first amendment rights because he hates the Constitution.
No, what hes saying he wants to be able to sue newspapers who say shit he doesn't like. This was in response to the press correctly reporting on all of his corruption and sexual assault incidents. I have no idea how you don't get that.
The sexual assault reports accused by women connected to the clinton machine, with no secondary witnesses and only came forward a few weeks before the election? Those super true stories?
I'm sorry you believe the news at face value, they lied to America on an unheard of scale this last year and have really damaged your countries ability to talk to each other.
That's all lies. There were corroborating stories and they weren't all connected to Clinton. It's really honestly sad that you've let yourself be lied to like that.
Typical left winger, assume anyone who disagrees is the other side, take things out of context, assume everyone else is hitler.
I couldn't be less right wing, not even an american, just dont like people pretending that the one side is always evil and taking things said and adding intent and extremism.
Didn't say you were American. If you listen to trumps words and don't think he wants to attack the press for reporting his (all 100% true by the way) sexual assaults then you are a dipshit
All they did was set up the most immediate and obvious ways to be proven wrong. People are saying he is going to round up gays and put them in concentration camps, and deport all Muslims in America, and then start WW3. So as long as he doesn't do any of those things he looks like a saint, they made it so easy to look like the good guy.
That's the George W Bush theory of low expectations. He was deemed as such a dumb, illiterate moron by the left that when he said or did something even slightly intelligent, he appeared brilliant.
It's going to be interesting when the effect of a stronger dollar trickles down. I think we'll see housing prices fall, for the first time in six years.
Not quite. He's right about this. Hillary is gone (good riddance) so she doesn't matter. But Trump will now be President. What is on his tax returns? Do you really not wonder what he might be hiding? If you accept this, what other things will you let him hide?
Power corrupts, and we always have to police our leaders and be skeptical of them and their motives. If you aren't, you will be fooled.
What does the tax return 'scandal' have to do with J Apatow's condecending fit? Smug Hollywood figures telling us how to think turns a ton of people off.
I just don't take things personally and judge comments on their own merit. I'm not saying there's a tax return "scandal" but, if you don't question your leaders, you are stupid. In that, Apatow isn't wrong if you are fine with Trump not revealing his tax returns.
I'm not going to be a blind sycophant of Trump, maybe I didn't dig into the tweet thread deep enough but I didn't see that being talked about, just Judd being all "no you're double dog stupid times a million!"
What is on his tax returns? Do you really not wonder what he might be hiding? If you accept this, what other things will you let him hide?
Who gives a shit, no, and he's publicly done things way worse than any silly information you're going to find on a tax return. I hate Trump, but this tax return thing is asinine. I honestly don't care if he doesn't pay taxes. It does, like he said, make him smart. Our society is capitalist and the tax breaks are there. He'd be a terrible businessman not to take them.
The country does not care about his taxes. Let it go.
If you're not concerned about conflicts of interest your next President may have, well, then, Apatow is right about you.
Hillary lost in a large part because of these perceptions: her taking money from Wall Street banks and Clinton Foundation from foreign governments. But somehow Trump is immune.
Do you know what a "straw man" argument means? It has nothing to do with this. You could say taxes are a "red herring" but I don't think they are in this case.
I'm concerned but as President, his conflicts of interest in the business world will lead to him getting sued. Trump's probably going to fall flat on his face, but it's not going to be because of his goddamn tax returns.
And Hillary lost due to those perceptions because she's a career politician. Trump has never held public office. It's apples to oranges.
The Trump support on here is 99% just "I love how he made liberals cry."
If you want to debate someone who thinks he's going to be a great president beyond giving us 4-8 years of "lol liberals lol", go troll Joe Cumia on Facebook.
That's the thing. Nobody gives a shit about trump personally. People were so sick of globalism and micro-managing intelligencia dictating culture they were willing to elect a facist, racist tv celebrity.
If the dems didn't rig the primary hillary would have lost that too.
What could possibly be on his tax returns? Does he declare illegal revenue to the IRS? Did he list financial contributions from China and Russia as earned income?
His tax returns are meaningless. They would reveal nothing of import.
It would have been much better to elect Hillary - the Fainter in Chief? She once collapsed and smashed her head and suffered from memory impairment and double vision. She nearly went down at the 9/11 memorial. At least she was honest about what caused the falls: she was exhausted-had-the-flu-dehydrated-missed-breakfast.
Whether you like it or not, Trump is the President. But we need to hold him accountable.
You are right that Trump wouldn't declare anything illegal to the IRS. But making tax returns public means they will be investigated by journalists. And who knows what they find.
sir, no matter how much time you spend on r/conspiracy and the likes no one will believe your jew lies. You're stuck in a catch 22 of defending your (((people)))
Yeah particularly Funny People. The last of its three hours is a home video of how adorable his actual wife and kids are. That movie was when I tapped out on him for good. 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up were so overrated. I still get sick when I think about how everyone raved about them at the time of release
You don't get it, man. It's all gold. Remember an hour and a half into funny people when it should have ended, then it went on for another hour and a half? Boom. Entire bonus movie.
If there's one thing that twitter has taught us, it's that Hollywood is filled is complete retards, thin skinned douche bags, and people less funny than people you see every day. Apatow is much dumber than he thinks.
The only truly funny thing about him anymore is the fact that he steals stage time from actual comics and none of them call him out because they want a role in his hack movies.
I was a huge fan of Judd Apatow and Amy Schumer until a few months ago, I don't care if I never see another thing either of them do, ever. Really smart choice, really helps your career to severely alienate at least half of your fanbase.
Even if he agreed with me on everything I'd still say he sucks and is just Kevin Smith without the sense of humor but far more success. Now he's on his post-Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back era where movies become masturbatory "look how cool my friends are! And my family is fawkin hilarious!" era.
I liked him a lot. I felt like he had a real John Hughes quality to him; it was "dick joke" movie, but with heart/3 dimensional characters. I loved Trainwreck when I saw it last year. I tried to re-watch it a few weeks ago, I tapped like 15 minutes in. Im like "What was I thinking?" Her opening voiceover to the movie is "Hi guyyyys. It's Amyyyy. Don't JUDGE ME, fuckers..." She actually says that.
Knocked up and 40 Year Old Virgin hold up, but only because the cast in both were so strong. I've never gotten past the 15 minute mark for Trainwreck. I fell asleep the first time, and the second...I just can't get over how bad an actress Amy is. She just mugs at the camera with that same fat "I'm so funny" smirk. Ugh.
I havent bothered watching "This is 40", even though I like Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd, and their chemistry. I just know how it's going to go - he took two great characters from Knocked up, and runs them into the ground. Right?
His power/talent now is producing. Not directing/writing. That's why he's doing SJW shit, that's where the money is. He's not a creative anymore, he's 100% money man, and he's the gateway to unfunny women ending up on the screen, because he gets paid to do it.
This Is 40 was so bad I walked out less than 30 minutes in. It was atrocious from minute one. It was Judd's emasculated, pathetic life right there on the screen. And in a significant case of life imitating art, his own shrilly, demanding wife plays the same thing in the movie.
Funny People is my favorite thing he ever did. I know most people hate that one but I really liked it for some reason. Seems like he's shit the bed since then.
Its like, you couldn't think of anyone more out of touch with america, jew, rich, hollywood.
I see a lot of liberals taking the loss by retreating into some fantasy, i see he is taking the "i are smarter then you plebes and i know what is good for you"
Atheist Jews, yet support Israel that has a racially pure state with a wall versus Arabs. Doesn't any of this cause them to rethink their thought process? Truly bizarre.
Fuck Judd Apatow. I love how Hollywood doesn't realize that they are just as responsible for getting Trump into the white house as anyone else. They are the most responsible for creating this culture of "if you aren't a democrat then you are a racist" ideology that has grown in the last decade or so.
How can someone actually say something like this and be able to look themselves in the mirror? Does he think he's David Lynch? Kubrick? PTA? Those guys are smarter than us because they make amazing, creative movies that stand the test of time. This guy made one good show and a couple of funny movies with dick jokes, he's not innovate at all.
He actually can't even make good dick joke movies anymore. He makes awful self indulgent 'comedies' that are at least 40 minutes too long and casts his family in them too.
Judd Apatow trafficks almost exclusively in stoners and losers, but he and his friends are voting Hillary and anyone who doesn't is some kind of backwards redneck.
What's it say that the "much smarter" side couldn't figure out a way to dupe the dumber side and win the election, despite having billions of dollars, the entire MSM, and even the debate moderators on their side?
At the risk of SAMCRO Joeing it... About year and a half ago or so... someone gave me an Amazon bootleg $10 Trump shirt, it was right after he'd announced. I wore it that weekend as a 100% joke.

Every single one of these fruits got Trump in the White House, and they don't even know it.

And they're going to get him re-elected. I'm 100% voting for him again just to spite these fucks.

They better hope Trump does something wild. Because if he has an uneventful term nobody is going to believe anything they or the media say again.
Especially in 2024 when their pitch is "Okay, we exaggerated about Trump. But Marco Rubio, this guy is evil for real!"
1 majestik6 2016-11-18
And we saw the same thing with the debates.
There were incredibly low expectations for Hillary, basically all she had to do was stay conscious for an hour straight and it was a victory.
1 Bick_Bickerson 2016-11-18
Trump said he wants to get rid of freedom of the press. There, proof of fascist tendencies.
5 Slippery_Slope_Guy 2016-11-18
He said he wants tougher libel laws.
1 Bick_Bickerson 2016-11-18
Yeah, so he can shut down newspapers. He specifically said that he wants to make newspapers easier to sue. He wants to chip away at your first amendment rights because he hates the Constitution.

You said he wants to shut down freedom of the press.
He said he will open libel laws so they can no longer run lies as news.
Are you equating holding the press to a standard of truth to the government shutdown of the free press?
I dont know what filter you have up when you see these videos, but we clearly come away with different interpretations.

If he was smarter he would hire a better editor for his movies
13 jfral 2016-11-18
Yeah particularly Funny People. The last of its three hours is a home video of how adorable his actual wife and kids are. That movie was when I tapped out on him for good. 40 Year Old Virgin and Knocked Up were so overrated. I still get sick when I think about how everyone raved about them at the time of release
11 xyniphis 2016-11-18
You didnt like when the ball busting movie became about some annoying kids and a woman who was decent looking in big daddy?
All of his movies go about 45 mins over the natural ending.
8 Bick_Bickerson 2016-11-18
You don't get it, man. It's all gold. Remember an hour and a half into funny people when it should have ended, then it went on for another hour and a half? Boom. Entire bonus movie.
23 SHITLORD_CUNTDICK 2016-11-18
If there's one thing that twitter has taught us, it's that Hollywood is filled is complete retards, thin skinned douche bags, and people less funny than people you see every day. Apatow is much dumber than he thinks.
22 AntsCamera 2016-11-18
Money does not make you smarter, it just makes everyone around you tell you how smart you are.
20 jfral 2016-11-18
The only truly funny thing about him anymore is the fact that he steals stage time from actual comics and none of them call him out because they want a role in his hack movies.
9 AsunaKirito4Ever 2016-11-18
So basically a male Amy Schumer?

I love 200 minute comedy movies, and isn't his family just so precious?
12 Doc_McCoy79 2016-11-18
I was a huge fan of Judd Apatow and Amy Schumer until a few months ago, I don't care if I never see another thing either of them do, ever. Really smart choice, really helps your career to severely alienate at least half of your fanbase.
Social Media seriously has ruined society.
7 bonniesretardsister 2016-11-18
Even if he agreed with me on everything I'd still say he sucks and is just Kevin Smith without the sense of humor but far more success. Now he's on his post-Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back era where movies become masturbatory "look how cool my friends are! And my family is fawkin hilarious!" era.
1 majestik6 2016-11-18
Nailed it.
1 Doc_McCoy79 2016-11-18
I liked him a lot. I felt like he had a real John Hughes quality to him; it was "dick joke" movie, but with heart/3 dimensional characters. I loved Trainwreck when I saw it last year. I tried to re-watch it a few weeks ago, I tapped like 15 minutes in. Im like "What was I thinking?" Her opening voiceover to the movie is "Hi guyyyys. It's Amyyyy. Don't JUDGE ME, fuckers..." She actually says that.
2 SkepticSloth 2016-11-18
2 Doc_McCoy79 2016-11-18
This Is 40 was so bad I walked out less than 30 minutes in. It was atrocious from minute one. It was Judd's emasculated, pathetic life right there on the screen. And in a significant case of life imitating art, his own shrilly, demanding wife plays the same thing in the movie.
Funny People is my favorite thing he ever did. I know most people hate that one but I really liked it for some reason. Seems like he's shit the bed since then.
1 MicrowaveYourFork 2016-11-18
Amy's fat.
12 Sippycupofpee 2016-11-18
Apatow is very smart, he fools Hollywood into financing shitty romcoms just so he can whatcha his wife with other men. He's a fantastical cuck.
9 Boredghost77 2016-11-18
Its like, you couldn't think of anyone more out of touch with america, jew, rich, hollywood. I see a lot of liberals taking the loss by retreating into some fantasy, i see he is taking the "i are smarter then you plebes and i know what is good for you"
I look forward to trumps second term

1 proto000 2016-11-18
He actually can't even make good dick joke movies anymore. He makes awful self indulgent 'comedies' that are at least 40 minutes too long and casts his family in them too.
4 mikestl1988 2016-11-18
Those pot movies filled with dick and shit jokes are...brilliant get it thru your heads civilians

What's it say that the "much smarter" side couldn't figure out a way to dupe the dumber side and win the election, despite having billions of dollars, the entire MSM, and even the debate moderators on their side?
This is what the "much smarter" side did:

I hate to admit it, but his wife Leslie is beautiful. Why she's with a schlub like him....oh, that's right, he's rich, and puts her in his movies.

Even if I linked the video you'd still deny it. It's the MO of the regressive right.
7 TARE_ME 2016-11-18
At the risk of SAMCRO Joeing it...
