Is actually sad that Kate McKinnon has to say goodbye to Hillary. My family wanted her for president mostly because they wanted to see Kate play her for 4 more years. I mean she won an Emmy for it! It's sad to see this somber cold open as Kate's goodbye to Hillary, and our goodbye to her beloved character. Hallelujah.

I never watched Kate McKinnon play Hillary Clinton but I would bet my shitty bi-weekly paycheck that one of the Girl Ghostbusters' portrayal of the female Democratic candidate for US President was about as funny, daring and risque as a video on vending machine disassembly.

But even people who hated Ghostbusters said that Kate was one of the few good things about it.

I'm not even saying she's not good, darling, I'm just saying, with SNL, they're supposed to make fun of the people they portray, and you know, you just know she's not gonna actually fucking do that.

Nah most of the time on SNL the impressions they do don't actually go hard after the person, unless it's a Republican. Like they did make fun of Hillary, it was usually jokes about her inability to act like a regular person and her email servers.

They made fun of Bill a lot. But still not as hard as if he was GOP.

Yeah when they go after Dems it's more light hearted than cutting.

It's been slowly turning away from that since they fired Norm Macdonald for making jokes about OJ murdering his wife and Bill and Hillary Clinton being murderers who took massive amounts of money from the Chinese.

Norms constant use of the Chinese in Clinton jokes got better the more he did it. Norm weekend update is why I watched SNL as a teenager

After the 96 election they opened the show with norm going off the deep end about the results, locking himself in a dressing room in full bob dole regalia until the actual bob dole came in to give him a pep talk. It was funny, weird, and gave bob dole a chance to say goodbye to the public eye with a laugh, poking a little fun at himself.

But i guess snobbing while singing the shrek song works too. Sniff.
