At least on O&A it was sometimes funny when no one would respond and he would begin laughing at himself for it. It kept him in check, at least to a degree. Which is what unbiased comedy would be. To be fair in his mind he thinks the rants themselves are comedic. Shit like Bowling for Behave and the cutesy way Opie and Jim would refer to his outbursts taught him to just rant and it would be enough to get laughs or content. He knows he can go off on the topic for a long time, so he kind of uses it as filler or a crutch.

Over 8 years for me. I stopped listening to the show during Obama's first run. Ant just repeated the same shit day after day, there was zero comedy to it, just his fear of blacks spewing out of his mouth ad naseum.
Luckily I listened after election day so I got to hear "Obama prezdint now!"
