Hey, long time listener but i've been out of the loop... I just read on Worldstar that Jim became the showrunner and fired Opie? Can someone explain how this happened?
Opie caught Lynsi having an affair with Jim Norton and Opie quit the show. Jim and Lynsi eloped and left the kids to play human water fountain with Uncle Joe Cumia while the two love birds have their honeymoon
Opie and Jim didn't want to work with each other anymore, so Opie did his usual bullshit of acting like he wasn't going to sign his contract, so Jim and Sam signed on for the morning show, and late to the party Gregg took a huge pay cut just so he could stay on the radio and be semi-relevant in the afternoon.
Sirius doesn't care that Jim and Sam is a better show, they would have rather had Opie in that time slot but they weren't sure he was going to stick around, so he lost his slot.
Opie and Anthony are in their fifties. So a forty something and thirty something shoved him out the door. A decade from now Sam will replace Jim with some millenial. Everybody chasing the almighty advertising dollars and demographics. Just as Gen Xers chased out the Baby Boomers, the Millenials are eliminating the Gen Xers. Eventually the millenials will also be marginalized by whatever the gay name is they give the generation after them.
