Howard obviously hated Artie by this point. Artie is bashing Tom Cruise like Howard would have during his prime, meanwhile Howard is asking "how do I get Tom Cruise to come to my house?" This is emasculated, post-comedy Howie.
Artie later admitted that he was overreacting and Tom really wasn't that mean to him. Just asked to him to come through a door faster or something and Artie got mad at his tone.
