I've grown to love Jim on the radio so I hate to say it but you're right. On-the-spot and working with input from Ant or Sam or whoever he allows himself to be far more loose and inventive. People like Chipperson, Sheckler, Mellencamp, Jamaican Jimmy, Agatha Tinsey and Bill Tetley probably wouldn't come to Jim as readily onstage as it does when he's just joshin with his lil buddies. On stage Jim is Chip without the self-awareness.
