1) Artie referred to himself as a "heroin addict" or "junkie" and admitted he's almost broke. Obviously he's back on dope, if he ever even stopped at all. He could maintain his (probably at least a) gram a day habit in NYC ($100-150+/day) on his Sirius salary, but on a podcast plus whatever touring he does, it's probably tough, and if you aren't shooting it and it isn't extremely high quality dope, you could easily do $600 of dope in a day without batting an eye.

2) he's clearly fucked up on dope in this very clip. When he's doped up he's willing to say shit that everyone thinks of saying, but stops themselves before they say it out loud because it could cause eternal resentment. He still did nothing but kiss Howard's ass for years after he left, so this is obviously shit he's wanted to say for a while.

3) I fucking love Artie, despite the fact that he's made me laugh out loud maybe 5 times his entire career, his standup is weak and he tells the same stories literally dozens of times. I still love him because he has that really dark self-loathing, self-destructive thing that makes him relatable. It's like he's what would happen if the average American male let their id take complete control of their life, and nothing mattered to them but the pursuit of pleasure with no financial constraints. Whores, booze, dope, fattening food: he's what happens when you never say no to yourself, and he demonstrates how empty that pursuit leaves you. I mean, who looks at Artie and goes "I wanna be like that"? No one.

3) At this point he's still only going after things that have been said about Howard online thousands of times, criticisms Howard must be aware of. But obviously he still thinks some things are off limits, which is why he only vaguely mentioned the conversations with Fred where Fred obviously talked shit about Howard. I hope we get the full ruthless honest takedown before he dies. Like the wig is still off limits apparently. Just tell us about the damn wig, Artie.

It was funny when he dumpstered the horrendous kathy griffin

Dude, no offense, I'm a junkie, I've done .5-2 grams of heroin a day for like 9 years, I spend 60-240/day on dope, it's pretty easy to tell when Artie is doped up. He touches his face a lot, he pauses to nod, and he also gets really dark very quickly. Artie isn't really much of a drinker. I mean he drinks socially, but there hasn't been a single episode of his podcast or radio show where hr was drinking. Even when stuttering John was on drinking beer Artie didn't drink. Artie isn't a drunk, he's a junkie.

There are plenty of current and former junkies on this sub, it's pretty easy to tell when you've seen it daily for a decade.

If what he is saying is true (we have to know it is, after Howard doing the exact same thing to so many people) he's just a funny guy who is getting so old he's finally understanding where his legacy will land, so he can speak honestly about people without selectively choosing words to avoid confrontation for career preservation.

I was listening and really liked WHAT he was saying initially, so the slurring was not as apparent. However, as it went on, you could hear more and more the slowed speech. I know quite a few people that were heroin/opiate addicts and that is exactly how they sounded. That is sad for Artie because he just cannot kick that shit.
