I loved every part of Jim calling John Walsh a crimefighter. From the moment he said it, to the moment he realized he said it and said fuck it and went with the chills.
Jimmy can acknowledge his fuck-ups and see the humor in them, unlike some afternoon radio hosts. I randomly listened to the Jimmy Tide clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zXqxPs_8UE the other night. 2:50 in Jimmy drops a doozy, around 5:00 he realizes what he did and brings it to everyone's attention. Warning: Clip contains dangerous levels of Opie-Douchiness (Yelling, dumb jokes, over use of the soundboard and Philly Crew mentions)
The Jimmy Tide thing is one of my favorite fuck-ups. He completely owned it and that damn infectious wheezy laughter of his just makes the whole thing a good time. And you're right, yet another clip that you could edit Opie out of seamlessly and not lose anything valuable.
I always blamed it on Erik. The fat nagel kid said "Jimmy tied for first place" No.... Jimmy had two candidates that tied for first place. Jimmy did not tie with anyone for first place. That nervous fruit's inablity to communicate caused Tired Jimmy's hilarious messup. Still, it was pretty dumb on Jim's part; he didn't recognize Hawk's mistake. Lovable Yimmy.
The fact that we heard the story one day and people behind the scenes supplied the audio for day two was funny, too. I loved the first riffing and then with audio....even better.
I love how the dispatcher treats him with the same fleeting interest and ultimate dismissal that general audiences do when they see him in movies or on TV.

If everyone were so courteous to include a "Warning" of how bad Opie will be, I might be able to listen to more of these relevant clips.

Opie trigger warnings

The only Opie trigger warning I want is from someone pointing a gun at him

I've actually never seen this but it sounds great. Can you give me some background?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucjO0GNloK4 This guy has made 3 videos I've seen so far where he has removed as much Opie audio as possible from classic shows

"Intercepted" is a rather grandiose term for "mildly annoyed."

Goddamn I miss this show.

worst part is, we can never go back. The sub completely ruined Opie for me.

DAE that 911 operator is dumber than Kenny's dummy act?

Almost as heroic as finding and returning a man's cellular telephone.

I love when Ant or somebody finally asks Jimmy what a criminal would want or do with a stolen bus, and Jimmy realizes he hadn't even thought of that.
