Can someone tell me how Opie got a job?

There's no way no one else was better in nineteen seventy whatever and even if there wasn't a year later they should have know he was trash and replaced him.

Dumb blonde with tits gets noticed by management.

He is a typical radio DJ, unfunny, hack bits, over the top "cool" personality. He didn't stand out, he fit in with all the rest. He did what management told him to do and didn't rock the boat. That's how he got a job and didn't get fired. He was a cookie cutter copy of all the other DJ's.

He realized after 14 years that he wasn't going to get famous or make it to a real major market in a prime shift. One day he met Anthony and even though he didn't understand why he was funny, because he's a humorless cunt, he noticed the callers enjoyed him. So he latched on like a parasite and didn't let go for 20 years until he had sucked as much humor and money as he could out of Anthony's talent. But he was bitter that people didn't laugh at his jokes and his bits, he started insisting he was a success before Anthony which of course everyone knows is a lie, and so he distanced himself from Anthony and when the opportunity presented itself he blew apart the team. He was proud of himself because he had an entire radio channel named after himself and he is delusional enough to think he would have all of this even if he had never met Anthony.

But now he's alone again and his utter lack of talent or ability is going to start showing more and more and eventually he'll be back to overnights on some shitty low watt station.

He was great at bringing back pizzas to the studio so broke DJs didn't have to tip deliverers. And Spuds Buckley was str8 fire.

Suckin' peckkahs! Dvvv dvv dvvv!

Going to college, working awful night shifts until he met Ant in his 30's, being a white man from an upper-class area

Sheer luck

Everyone on radio sucked back then.

It really didn't take much to spin records. The most you heard of him in those days was maybe a few minutes between songs. The better question is how he was able to keep his job

He was tenacious and believed in himself
