Ok fags, who had the better first week of radio?

I never thought I would say it, but I thought the Opie Show took it by a large margin this first week. He had a bit of an advantage off the bat as Jimmy and Sam were popping off for weeks a little here, a little bit there, and Opie came out Tuesday with a lot to say in response to the shit that was building. Plus, his reunion with Ant was giant.
Opie also had the better guests as even though it's an overall BRUTAL crew......it beats nick Nolte and Pao Mayfield. I believe Jimmy and Sam are going out of their way to prove they don't need to fill the room with comics to do a good show which is cool and they definitely had their moments, but as soon as they got rolling, commercial, and then car crash for momentum as Johnny Bench and Bruce Campbell isn't the way to go either in terms of guests.
Doug Benson......he was bearable this week(and he's in my top 3 most hated behind Sharrod and Jewmer). Pete is great although when the convo turns towards politics or his liberal overall faggoty way of thinking, he can suck too. He's mean spirited though and the closest to old O&A that I imagine we will see on this shit show. Chris D.....I'm pretty neutral on him, but he was good yesterday fighting with Theo Von.....who I'm not familiar with, but he's a cool strange fucking guy who cracked me up with some funny shit he says.
The vibe with Opie is kind of what I was hoping for with Ant's show when he got the NY studio. People popping in like Pete. Or how Judy Gold just showed up a few minutes ago to add to the mix(would want anyone on earth to pop in over her, but the idea of it). There's obviously a decent amount of local comics lurking in the afternoons looking for a true hang instead of that dead 7am shit, and it's a shame Ant hasn't really cashed in on that vibe. It's 15 minutes monologue, bring in guest, 1 on 1 interview rinse and repeat.
Overall though, back to the two new shows. I really am surprised, but Opie's show was a definitive winner so far, and again I'm surprised to say that I'm looking forward to next week.

Opie had complete shows that were a pain to listen to. I gave it a chance to see if he could pull it off, but had to turn it in o another channel. He needs a co-host/partner, not the carousel of comics.

Aside from Today's show which was horrendously awful, Opie had the better week. It's funny, everyone says Opie always needs to surround himself with comics (which is true) but then I read comments that Jim and Sam need a third mic/comic. Or that Anthony is terrible pontificating on his own. Here's a novel idea, what if they all did the show together?.....I'll give myself a Barry Horowitz pat on the back for that one.
