No. Opie craves a target to hate.
He did it all those years on OnA, always having someone to say "fuck that guy. Fuck [insert name here]". Be it a former producer, celebrity, etc.
Then it was Anthony. Then it switched to Jimmy, which is why he can now talk to Anthony with much more ease.
And through all of that he can't handle being the one that is hated.

I disagree.
I think that Opie was annoyed that Sam and Jim had Anthony on the phone while indicating that Opie was the one who kept Anthony off the air. Wanting to steal back the attention like a petty faggot, Opie fawwwwkin made the call.
