I'm gonna say the Anthony call on Opie's show was more cathartic than some weird attempt at a reunion. Like when divorced parents get along for the sake of the kids, but dont hold illusions that they're getting back together.

I think opie fucking sucks like anyone else with an iq over 70 but after hearing all these different host combo's and show incarnations I finally myself believe that Opie played an important part of the trio that we enjoyed years ago. All these shows suck in comparison.. I use to be excited hearing the intro music in the morning before the show on my way to work. I'll just keep hoping for something that will never again be..

The one combo that hasn't been tried long term is jim and anthony. Nopie shows were the best ones at the end of the O&A era.

A + J + almost anybody would be a better show than O&A was. Someone does need to steer the ship or else you end up with a stream of consciousness mess like The Bonfire. That show is funny, but it is draining to listen to. That ship steerer doesn't need to be Opie, though. His ability to say "moving on.." is not special.
