Jim and Sam are a much better listen than O and J. That's not saying much but hopefully Jim and Sam doing a show together for a prolonged period of time results in a better show overall. Remember they have only done a few shows together so the chemistry and the flow of the show is going to be rough.

Sam Roberts Show was pretty bad it's first few months and he slowly turned it around to be a pretty good fun show. Hopefully they find a way to improve the show as it goes on as it is a little rough around the edges.

Opie is fighting for his life on the afternoon so maybe that sense of urgency actually makes him give some effort.

I can see them butting heads sooner rather than later. Jimmy needs to let Sam drive the bus, as he's pretty fucking good at it. There were some times today where Jimmy seemed to try and take over control of the show. And Sam did a show for a 1+ years solo & they were pretty good. Jimmy by himself (see: Advice Show) is a bus station abortion.

I think that could also be sorted out as they get more comfortable with each other on air. Jimmy needs to let Sam drive but Jimmy might also be feeling out just how strong Sam's abilities are. Jimmy probably on some level feels like Sam is still a producer so getting use to him as the "Co-Host" is probably still something that he needs to get use to.

It is possible that as the show progresses Jimmy sees Sam's ability and lets him take it over a bit more. Although them butting heads is certainly a possibility I think it is just as possible that they figure out a good balance simply by doing more radio.

Jimmy needs to let Sam run the show because when Jimmy leads you get the Advice Show or worse. There were a few times today when Sam was running everything perfectly and Jimmy tried to take the wheel. I hope they get that straightened out. Sam can go solo if need be, Jimmy solo is worse than leaky hemorrhoids.

Here's what these dipshits at Sirius, including Jim and Opie, don't seem to understand. You need TWO...not just ONE...funny person to bounce shit off of. Sam is NOT funny. He may have better "chemistry" with Jimmy...but he's not funny (or really all that talented either outside of being OK at setting Jimmy up for the occaisional zinger). Get Ant on the show...or Dan Soder...or anyone that's legit funny to work with Jim. Sam will not cut it alone.

It's fucking true. And the show was less meandering. I know that Jim likes doing a more free style of radio- but holy shit. Jim can't host. So Sam is hosting. Jim is throwing out a shitty joke here and there. It's fucking tragic.

I'm rooting heavily for Sam and Jimmy but you're right. It was fucking horrible today and has been horrible for the last few shows they've done. Boring as shit. Some reality show dipshit bimbo for a guest that nobody's ever heard of and nobody cares about? Exactly what I feared the show would be become...

The two guests were fucking terrible why were they not pushed out of the studio? Why were they brought in? Do they know who their fan base is? Do they think we want this?

The sad truth is that Opie, Anthony and Jimmy just aren't good without each other.

Anthony can be funny when he's focused, but left to his own devices he'll talk politics (badly) for hours. Jimmy is best when he has someone to bounce off of. Opie is radio cancer now, but ten years ago he kept things moving on the show and curbed Ant's excesses.
