I wouldn't be shocked at all if he wasn't under the impression he was putting the fear of God in Norton in the last few days of the month, remember back to last years 'They absolutely asked me!' if he wanted Norton gone and he bravely said he wanted Jim to stay. This reeks of the 'resignation letter' of 2014.
I agree. Opie and his failure of an agent are the worst. He thinks he has leverage. Opie will be back. With a different show, maybe afternoon drive. But he will be back.
My theory is he moves Jim/Sam and whoever to mornings. He goes to afternoons right after bennington. Because the idiot thinks competing with Stern in the morning slot is what's been holding him back. Instead of his show just being completely shit.
The fact that he keeps retweeting things related to the show makes me think hes still invested in it. I'm just hoping that jim stays on and does a daily show with Sam.

I'm 50/50. It's very possible that XM let Opie's contract expire, because he's so expensive and he isn't worth it.
But it's also possible that this is a ruse, and he's hoping that his 'fans' call up XM and demand an OpieRadio show going forward.
