I live in a Demolition Man world. Only listen to old commercial jingles. "oscar meijer weiner" and "Jolly Green giant" are my jams.

I Just got a hard drive full of lostprophets and personal important business stuffs. The hard drive of hits i like to call it.

I love spankin it to LostProphets..

I met that guy when they were opening for Metallica and Slipknot some years back. Seemed like a nice chap.

That would be a cool show. Did you guys bond over similar hobbies/collections?

I'd tell you guys what bands I like but you probably haven't heard of them. SNIFF

What, are we not close enough?

You guys weren't there for me.

You go deep with The White Stripes, don't you?

I'm all in with the The White Stripes! Travis, what's that song? Six..uhh.....six co........GASP..........six country navy? Love 'em!

Death Grips, Skinny Puppy, and Tiny Tim

Cher, Liza Minnelli, Boy George, Gloria Gaynor, Diana Ross, Cyndi Lauper, and Madonna to name a few

This joke post has the best music out of the 40 replies so far.

Freddie Mercury, Liberace and Easy E to name a few.

(I only listen to musicians who died of AIDS)

I listen to just a tasteeee of lots of stuff mostly reggae and punk rock and hip hop.

Bad Brains, Minor Threat, JFA, The Germs, Bad Religion, Dead Kennedys, Operation Ivy, Black Flag, Burning Spear, Culture, Bushman, Toots and the Maytals, the Specials, Steel Pulse, Buju Blanton, Sizzla, Big L, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, MF Doom, Earl Sweatshirt, Wu-Tang Clan, the Roots, Mos Def, Erykah Badu

A gentleman w/ some damn good taste in music.

I FUCK THE MUSIC, I MAKE IT CUM

I FUCK THE MUSIC WITH MY SERPENT TONGUE

HIT HIT HIT

Sick Fuckin Puppies, Kiss and Black Sabbath

Dvv dvv.

I think Rotgut and their award winning song Drown Cuban Drown is amazing https://youtu.be/0Gn_CgEfJiU?t=26m46s

Rotgut, 2U, White Hendrix and Almost Journey

Just about anything Jack White is involved with, Daniel Johnston, Captain Beefheart, Mimicking Birds, The Clash, Vampire Weekend, QOTSA, and Zeppelin, Floyd, Beach Boys I have a big appreciation for but have played them out.

The only Beefheart record I like was their first one, which is one of my favorite albums ever. But I can't get into anything else, so I guess I'm not really a Beefheart fan.

He's been the soundtrack to most of my psychedelic experiences so maybe that's why I'm partial. I might be imagining it but I hear his influence everywhere. The Dead Weather have a very Beefheart feel or even like Paul Simon's song So Beautiful or So What sounds like Beefheart to me.

Well my last.fm account says my top 4 bands are They Might Be Giants, the Beatles, R.E.M. and Sparks, so yes I am a faggot.

When the voices stop I listen to Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra.

Punk, metal, surf, ska, power electronics...

Nirvana, Sublime, Lupe Fiasco are my big three whos albums I actually own and listen to thoroughly.

I like the meatspin song. Or do I just like meatspin?

The last schoolboy q album was really good.

This morning I mostly listened to King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Maleem Mahmoud Ghania.

King Gizzard fucking rules, Nonagon Infinity might be my favorite album of all time.

Did you hear the last Thee Oh Sees record? It's veering into that territory.

Yeah but I'm kind of souring on them a little. Not a lot of depth to their catalogue IMO, and I think their latest record sounds almost exactly like Mutilator before it. Like play the first few songs on each album simultaneously and they're pretty fucking close structure-wise.

It starts that way, which I dont mind, but the second half especially spins out.

I'll have to give it another listen, I've only gone through it once on youtube after it was first released. Any other similar bands you've discovered recently?

Wand is pretty great. And the last Ty Segall album had a lot of similar stuff on it.

Sweet I'll check them out, thanks brah.

Jim bruer and pendulum only

Kpop, for the most part.

Schoolboy Q - John Muir Realist gangster rap video of all time!

Acid Bath (and any other Dax Riggs related band), Fireball Ministry, Alice in Chains, Monster Magnet, Alabama Thunderpussy, Down, Pantera, Corrosion of Conformity, Kyuss

Those Poor Bastards, Hank Williams III, Johnny Cash, Murder By Death, The Builders & The Butchers, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds

I just listen to recordings of babies screaming.

I'm autistic and tried to copy and paste my giant list of bands I have in alphabetical order that I like. It's avant garde, extreme metal, jazz and all kinds of nonsense that is too garish for even John Zorn's label. I'm a faggot.

SFP

I'm in a hardcore band but don't listen to a lot of similar music cos it's all the fucking same. I like At The Drive In and the more progressive style shit though. I listen to a lot of hip hop and blues-driven, dive-bar style garage rock too, although I like stuff from most genres.

Except folk. All folk music is for queers.

ATDI is great. As is TMV.

TMV is awesome (even better than ATDI, at least on Deloused and Francis The Mute) but I never tell people I like them because TMV fans are, by and large, a bunch of fags

True, a pretentious bunch they are. If u really like whatever weird ass projects Omar and Cedric are currently doing, more power to ya. It just aint me. Like you, I liked almost all their albums up to like the last two.

"All folk music is for queers."

Indeed.

Reverend Horton Heat, Tool, Puscifer, and Sick Fawkin Puppies.

KISS and Ozzy

I just watched Vince Staples on the HBO show Any Given Wednesday and boy was he a nervous Nelly. He was doing a foot wiggle thing endlessly during the interview.

The bugs crawling on the corpses around me

Strictly Mark Gormley music https://youtu.be/KNGBL9e99Vk

I've always been strangely into that song. If it wasn't mixed like a 32kbps Limewire track with MIDI instrumentation, it would actually make a decent prog rock-ish song.

Very intaynse

Listen to cKy

Sandy Kane.

Kendrick Lamar is my main shit. Drake, The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj. Also like Of Monters and Men.

Currently listening to Lana Del Rey.

All kinds of stuff.

Lana Del Rey is good fucking music.

I've been listening to a lot of 80s shit lately. George Michael, Elton John, Genesis, shit like that. I usually like rap songs where I find out the rapper was killed for making the song. OG ManMan had one out recently, Lil Jojo is another one.

Edit: here's some songs that may have contributed to these rappers deaths -

OG ManMan - Truth

Lil Jojo - BDK

Dhat Fam - Expose One

And here's a song where the lyrics were used in court to convict the rapper of murder -

Twain Gotti - Ride Out

I'm really into synthwave these days. New Retro type stuff. Think soundtrack of The Guest and It Follows.

Yes, I'm a gay.

Tommy Wright III

I'm 47. Played, Recorded & toured all thru the late 80's to early 2000. My two favorite bands are The Rolling Stones (67 to 74 era), & The Melvins. I guees if I had to label what music I'm into it would be punk/hardcore. I like some metal. Hate most 90's era alternative/grunge. Was never into STP, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains. .(just not my thing). I hate Nu Metal. I love The Bad Brains, Angry Samoans, OFF! Etc. EYEHATEGOD, Fantomas, Joy Division, Can..

Other faves off the top of my head...AC/DC, (early) Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, The Original Alice Cooper Band(69-73), (early) Kiss, The Kinks, Butthole Surfers, Motorhead, etc...

I grew up in the Virginia Hardcore Punk scene and was close with Dave and some of the other guys from GWAR. I lived in Austin, TX for 17 years and now back in Virginia. I'm a failed musician but never played other people's music for a living like Captain Faggot Brother Joe. I toured the states and Canada in a van that smelled like ass, but did it playing my own horrible noise.

More info than you asked for, I know novody gives a shit but, yeah that's the kind of faggot I am.

Here's one of my bands songs (sometime around 96)... https://youtu.be/jeFnCurPDko

it sounds muddy and shitty. We were called The Nipple 5.. our schtick was to play low fi metal while our lead singer would parody cheesy metal vocals. He even did the David Lee Roth roundhouse kicks and would dress the part...as gay as it sounds, it worked and we had a following during or short span of just under a year.

TL,DR : Don't worry about it. It's the adderal talking.

Can u actually name anyone besides Big Jay Oakerson that currently listens to "Nu Metal"?

Florentine kinda does, doesnt he?

Anyone that also listens to ICP.

Buzz describing a late Rolling Stones concert as amplified motorcross is also pretty great.

I've been listening to Black & Blue by the Stones a lot lately. It's no Exile but it's still front to back great to listen to

Deadguy. Hot Water Music. Coalesce. A Willhelm Scream. Letlive (sorry). Bear Vs Shark. The Hold Steady. Say Anything.

I mostly just listen to Phish. I am aware of my faggotry.

I love how a quarter of this thread dove right in with King Gizzard. I don't think they're on Burger Records these days. That label went terrible REAL QUICK.

Although I've always been partial to Personal and the Pizzas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIVfXwRq890&ab_channel=BobOliva

Neil Young

Chelsea Grin, Northlane, Phinehas, Erra, Invent Animate

Little bit of everything, but mostly hip-hop and electronic.

Hip-hop: Kanye (the artist not the human), Freddie Gibbs, Nacho Picasso, Amir Obe, Nipsey Hussle, Mick Jenkins.

Electronic: Tycho, Gui Boratto, Classixx, Chemical Brothers, Phantogram, Porter Robinson, TOBACCO, Mitch Murder.

EDIT: Surprised to see so much hip-hop in the responses. I always assumed you were all a bunch of old white guys who only listened to classic rock. Seeing "Schoolboy Q" on the O&A sub was like worlds colliding.

Earl May be my fav: all those others u mentioned are up there for me too.

Royce had the best album of the year so far IMO.

I really like Isiah Rashad. Hes deff different tho.

Cant wait for the new Danny Brown album.

EDIT: Kanye is a genius. Just to be clear. Downvote away.

I interviewed Danny Brown at an old magazine I used to work for and he was the biggest dick ever. Only gave one word answers or just mumbled and said "I dunno bruh"

I've been saying racial epithets on this sub ever since.

Kanye is a genius. The last song they put out off the Danny Brown album is so fucking good. And Earl steals that group track.

Yeah, im really into Ab-Soul too so that track was crazy good.

I like the stuff ive been hearing from Earl, him and Knxwledge have been working together alot and released some songs/snippets. IDLSIDGO was good but didn't have the massive replay effect other Earl shit had.

Metal like black dahlia murder, Within the Ruins and Necrophagist.

Prog Rock/jazz/experimental like Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, Soft Machine, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Gentle Giant, Goblin and King Crimson.

I also listen to a lot of funk from the 70's and horror movie soundtracks from the 70's &80's

I can only listen to music that sounds hard to play and uses odd time signatures. I'm a music snob.

I'm a music snob.

Tss why dontchya wipe ya nose er sumthin
