I've heard this multiple times from people who have seen Cross do standup. I think Cross is alright at standup, definitely not great, I liked the new one he put out on Netflix okay, but I'd never pay money to listen to him during a "development stage". I also am an opinionated liberal douche who loves to spout off when I get the chance, so I know exactly how insufferable it is.
Still, Cross is a brilliant writer. Mr Show is possibly my favorite sketch show ever (next to Whitest Kids and maybe Mitchell and Webb) and Todd Margaret is a really, really good show.
Okay, can you please link me the funniest KITH sketch you can think of? I love sketch comedy and would like to enjoy it, but t he show has never made me laugh. I know people love it, but I just haven't seen it. I feel like maybe I've only seen the worst ones based on the amount of praise I hear from people for it, and to be fair, I haven't given it that much of a chance.

I just want to see something funny - I love sketch comedy and I want to be a fan of them so I can watch their archive, but from what I remember they aren't funny.
I've always thought it had one of the best ratios of good to bad sketches of all the modern sketch shows, but of course it's all personal taste. There's a mixture of a lot of different styles of writing on the show, so there's usually something for everyone.

and the one where the kid tried to kill himself by jumping in acid because a metal band said too and they met him and he was all fucked up and their next song was "Try Again"...and a whole shit bunch more, super innovative awesome show

saw david cross a few months ago... i was so dissapointed he ranted the entire time, barely any jokes. what a fucking shame
