This whole place is built on cynicism.

Watch this first.

Everything sucks. Opie sucks, Anthony sucks and although it's not unanimous yet, Jimmy sucks too. So why did we like them?

Because they made good radio. And what's good radio for us? Them talking about how much everything else sucks. Stern and management suck. Blacks and women suck. Political correctness and these scumbags suck too, whoever the scumbags were that day. Hell, Jimmy even had a bit parodying the whole thing, where he would just go off on random things like Birds and Trees.

There are many other shows where comedians make fun of each other or goof on the news and youtube videos. The thing that set this one apart is that the boys were genuinely angry.

Jocktober is the best example of this. "HOW CAN PEOPLE LISTEN TO THIS SHIT?!" That feeling was the essence of O&A. How can people like that TV show? Why is everyone laughing at this hack? Can't they see how fake this guy is? Your whole life you could see all these things that were wrong with the world, and nobody else understood! But O&A understood. And then you weren't so lonely anymore.

Even now, the only thing we want is for the Stangels to validate our hatred by bashing Opie, and we'd forget all their faults, like we did with Esther Ku, like we did with Danny, like we did with Opie, Anthony and Jimmy all those years ago. It's shit, it's all shit.

Anyway, manifesto over and I will now get on with my mass shooting.

This post sucks. How can people actually read this shit?

Fuck that retarded shit.

What a stupid comment

You're stupid

That last poster is an asshole

Every friendship and relationship I've ever had was based on hating the same things. Nothing made me happier than me and my gf would go to public events with the intention of making fun of people.

I revel in hatred and mean joke telling.

some clown started a thread the other day about liking opie, and all i said was this place is not built on niceties, and he flipped. this just isnt a place to come to be nice. nice isnt fun.

You're not saying anything most of us didn't already know. I've been aware of my cynicism since I was like 12. It's more fun/interesting to hate something than to enjoy it.

Yes, interesting... That's better than happy, right?

I'm not saying it's a choice. Cynicism is just a trait some people have.

If happiness was my main objective I wouldn't be here.

Being a hateful fuck, and trying to ruin someones day is what makes me happy, so I am here for happyness.

I think this sub like the rest of reddit is built on program code

More insult humor than outright cynicism. The reason why the cellar crew is so revered is that every member of the inner circle - Jimmy, Colin, Patrice, Louis, Burr, Vos, Bobby, Nick, etc - they could all dish out the insults and take them as well. The way someone looks, they way they dress, the way they talk, their relative fame, embarrassing stories, etc.

But 95% of the time, it seemed okay because the butt of the joke was okay with being the target of ridicule for the duration of the bit. Bobby didn't have to tell the "not you" story, Vos didn't have to ask people on the street if his "men's bag" resembled a purse, but they did for the entertainment factor despite knowing all the abuse that would be thrown their way.

Too many people today love to throw the shit but hate being on the receiving end of it, even as a goof.

So, you mean Opie right?

You say gay things to people.

Stop saying "we", dude. its gay

You don't like being associated with him?

I think your analysis is rather cynical at best.

I hope you are embarassed by this retarded post in the near future.
