Second venue has a bar? Don't those insensitive convict fucks know he's in recovery.

Jim Norton decides to go overseas in the twilight of his career.

Yeah this whole going to Australia thing is about decade to late.

I think he may have pulled an Axl here - "Baby boy is too big to play small venues!"

"Uh, Mr. Norton? Nobody in this country has a fucking clue who you are, ya cunt. We're gonna scale it down, mate."

If Jim had a competent manager, he could have leveraged the friendship with Jim Jeffries, and OPENED for him there - Jeffries is HUGE as a hometown hero there. Opening for him would enable Jim to do a venue that big, later.

He needs to have a woman opener. You know, one he can take to a nice restaurant for a steak dinner and put makeup on. Just as most friends do

Like his ego would ever allow that.

Jim doesn't think he opens for people anymore. He's the star, you see.

I can almost taste the hatred he has for Normand for his BA opening slots, especially with Op's fascination with private aircraft but I think that may actually pushed since he knows it eats at Yimmy.

I mock booked his new venue - I was able to get 10 tix in the same row ... yikes

I mock booked

Don't say that like it's a thing that people do.

Careful, you don't want to get mock booked too pal. This guy means business.

Doing huge rooms outside of the Melbourne comedy festival and nothing on netflix was a silly move. He should of done the month in Edinburgh like Ari Shafi and Joe Derosa did. Hardly did any radio and its a way of growing your international name massively

You barely get any money at Edinburgh though.

Most lose money but builds a fan base or gets you connections think that's how Stanhope got big here got noticed their got a small part on TV and now he can do theaters here

Edinburgh isn't about money. It's about exposure and networking. A ton of shows and careers have been made there.

One more example of the grandiose mentality of Jim Norton.

Instead of admitting he's a nobody outside the States and actively making contacts with the local clubs an year early, booking a low level tour so he grows an audience and learns the differences on the business side, no! Jimmy "Household Name" Norton does a couple of theaters..

Because that's what nobody comics do when they enter a new market.

Instead of admitting he's a nobody outside the States

Wasn't that exactly why he refused to work outside the States despite Burr pushing him?

It sounds like it was just mismanaged, not that his supposed ego got in the way.

Am i missing something or when someone starts anything they're "a nobody" in that area? +10 years ago Burr was an even much lesser known comic than Norton. He wasn't a 3rd mic on a very successful radio show ( relax.. ) but over time he made it by being an adult and doing what comics do.

That mismanaged thing it's an excuse Norton would love to have in his pocket. In many fields and especially comedy biz, managers are there to do the secretary work and the small talk.

Proving my point that Norton is just a child, he's the one responsible for his career moves not some mild sociopathic loser that presents himself as a manager.

OOF

2nd floor closed off in the new venue too?

Haha fucking entitled AIDS patient that's what you get for being a whiney faggot CONSTANTLY.

Comment /u/therealjimnorton ??

Unknown comedian charging $60/ticket. Lol!

Even when you convert that from Australian money to real money, it's still more than I paid to see Seinfeld.

The Gyro Captain could sell more seats than norton.

I got my ticket :D
