Speaking as though SiriusXM isn't a ponzi scheme that's actually several billion dollars in debt.

I've never wished anything but the best for the Opester. He's just a dumb dad that got lucky and now his lack of talent is extremely exposed. I still have a soft spot in my heart for him (yeah I just said that) and feel very bad for him when this sub constantly attempts to ruin him.

With all of that said- if he's not capable of accepting the truth and doing what's best for the station, himself, loyal employees like Sam and Travis and most of all us the fans, well then I'm afraid that I'm not gonna be able to feel sorry for him anymore. If he's really so ego maniacal, narcissistic, and in denial then he's just not worth caring about anymore. Opie needs to step aside and allow Jim and Sam to do mornings together where they can get themselves a ton of spotlight and money. If he still wants to broadcast and have the channel named after him- that's fine- but he needs to accept the fact that his time has passed and he's second fiddle. It's time he throws any power and influence he has left to his protege and loyal meal ticket and allow them to shine

I hope he stays employed for a long time. Then there's less time for him to be out on the streets stomping on cakes, mocking disabled children or perving on women in the park.

Stern has been horrifyingly bad for the last 8 years. If he is staying at the level he is, then there is no way The Opester is going anywhere.

Stern is doing great interviews with A list celebrities, or at least that's what people think. It's not even comparable. Opie absolutely has no reason to be on the radio.

Stern does interviews with fellow Jews then asks them in this order how much money they are worth and how big their penis is.

Stern badgers his guests until they announce that they hate their father.

I agree that his show is much better on paper. But I think if they are paying Opie $1-2 mil vs Stern's $100 mil/year he does not need to be even close to Stern in quality to stay. I would be curious to see a solo Stern show.

Yes, Opie may be trying to do his homework by reading their book, but questions like "Hey I loved page 64 where you said [insert meaningless point]" does absolutely nothing for the listener or guest.

Opie did exactly this yesterday during the interview with Matt Pinfield. After Matt wrapped up a story, Opie said, "Tell them about the [whatever]! I don't want to give anything away (he may actually have said "I don't want to blow up your spot"), but I want to prove to you I read the book!"

I'd like to add....Jim Norton and Sam Roberts is potentially the best show the company can offer. Do whatever you want with Opie but keep Norton and Sam. That show is legitimately funny as fuck and you can take the 2 funniest comics in the world that are best friends and they still would not have the on air chemistry that Jimmy and Sam have. The 2 of them are seasoned veterans and their chemistry is 100x better than O&A ever were and even Howard and Robin

The Bonfire is a fine program, and even though Jay and Dan are both much funnier than Sam might be- Mr. Roberts truly is a professional broadcaster. Jimmy is the funniest off the cuff human being in the world and we've all forgotten it because of his current situation. When he's with Sammy, that ugly boy knows how to feed him constantly and Jim knocks it out the park non stop. Horsecock and Sam in the morning is the absolute best way to not only keep the most hardcore fans interested and satisfied but also bring in new fans....not a specific type of fan either- it's not some conservative show, or millennial show- or really aything specific. It's just a pure comedy show and They can talk about any and everything and the loose, fun vibe in the room is appealing to just about everyone and is undeniably funny to all types of people
