Opie is the only interviewer who becomes worse at interviewing when he prepares for the guest by reading the book or watching the show they are promoting. Instead of a casual conversation it just becomes Opie trying to get them to repeat stuff that he has already watched or read.

Because he doesn't read the books. Just flips to a random couple of pages and rips a quote or two.

There's no way he reads as many books as he says he does that's for sure.

Remember when he Instagrammed the book he was reading, I think it was Unbroken or one of those Oprah book club books. 100% he didn't finish that book, his wife was probably the one reading it.
