You ever actually listen to Lenny Bruce? Sometimes I get the feeling people only say they like Bruce because they think they're supposed to as fans of standup. The shit did not hold up over time.

Not a huge fan of Carlin, personally. I think he's overrated. Like that, "Things you never hear" bit. Literally just come up with crazy sounding things to say. Absolutely zero effort.

On the subject of unreleased Carlin material, anyone know what happened with Carlin's last book, Watch My Language? According to Wikipedia, it was supposed to come out in 09, but still hasn't been released.

Other than his autobiography, all his books were just transcripts of his act, probably not missing much. Didnt know he had new material coming out though, thats pretty fuckin sweet.

A good chunk of it was just stuff from his acts but not all of it. The rest of it was original material that wouldn't have translated well into stand up.
