To be fair to Opie (and boy do I hate being fair to him), I'm assuming he's reading that from Sam's computer and his old man eyes can't see it very well. That's why he can't make out any of the commas and periods. Having said that though, and normal-functioning adult would certainly be able to figure it out within the context before having to give up on it.
