This definition is not quite complete. Another usage of the word denotes how a "Brother Joe" usually is wont to pay children a paltry sum to spit in his mouth, primarily for sexual reasons. In the interest of semantic accuracy, someone needs to make this addenda.
I think it might be getting real traction from normal UD people. It sort of works on its own. If it ever actually caught on and people called losers "brother joe's" I would never stop laughing.
Not to sound like a self-congratulating boob but I think it has a decent chance of happening. It's now at almost 20,000 upvotes, which means it's grown by 7,000 upvotes in less than 24 hours.
You know how these things work - all it takes is a couple of the cool kids to start using it in real life and before you know it, Joe Cumia will overhear it one day when he's bent over with his mouth open waiting for his daily dose of neighborhood child spit.
