I know we hate on everything but I'd actually listen to a Sam and Jim morning show. I like it. I haven't listened in years and it would be nice to have something worth listening to again.
It would also be hilarious to see it outperform Opie's show on his own channel and the inevitable passive aggressive bitch fit he would throw. "I fought for those guys to have a morning show.... Period. It's just the fawking management wanted it to stop and they love the direction of this new afternoon show. Period"

Yep. I started downloading every show from late 2011 on. I think I may have lasted a week at best. I downloaded the first O&J show, thought it was kind of understandably low key but not as awful as I thought it would be, and then I'm not even sure if I lasted the entire week. By August 2014 I was doing what I do now which is just checking this place out to see whatever awful shit Opie put out today.
I listen to the NOpie shows and nothing else. Even when I see a name I like is on the show.
Slowly but surely the same resentment and jealousy Opie felt towards Jim and Ant for nothing more than being buddies would start to bubble inside him when he sees Sam and Jim and other comics have fun. If this Sam/Jim thing ever happens, give it six months before Opie says some intentionally vague shit about how "some people out there - not gonna name names - did some shitty stuff before they left"
If you're on Android, I'd highly recommend FireTube a free app which gives you the audio only version of anything on YouTube and background play. Just open any video in YouTube, tap the Share button, choose FireTube and it will start playing. No need to download anything but the app.
There's actually several YouTube apps that have not only screen-off but background playback: mytube and pvstar are just a couple of them. You can find them around the net if not on Amazon Underground
Edit: and they don't require you to have to share or do any such bullshit.

So Opie will say it's better for his kids or something to move to afternoons, because everyone knows he, Vic and Sherrod is not going to be a good show for the morning slot.
If they have any eyes on social media, they will see that this (the morning jam) is a huge success, the problem is Opie but they still may see value in name recognition.
It also wouldn't surprise me if they're also testing out Bennington for mornings, just in case Opie throws a bitch fit and decides to live off his "fuck you money" Which for the life of me, I can't understand why he hasn't done so already. Tits' ego is so big, he can justify the constant hate and humiliation he and his family gets from social media every day. It's tragic really.

I've listened to it a few times when taking a long drive. It's still entertaining and compelling to listen to.
I'd imagine if Opie was there he would have cut it off like 15 minutes in with "...yeah, man. They just fawwwkin' do what they want cause their so big...alright, why don't we break and then listen to this Kim Kardashian audio..."
Haha yeah Ive heard that one a few times too. Anthony and Bill had such a great dynamic; Ants reluctance to go along with the conspiracy stuff and Bill never agreed with Ant's politics or views on race. By the end of a show they had usually met somewhere in the middle and it was 2 - 3hrs of hilarious, compelling radio.
Its such a shame to imagine how much better the show would have been if Opie just left in like 05 or 06 right after they got on XM. I'll listen to the Nopie shows twenty times a piece before I'll relisten to anything where Opie is prominent or driving the conversation. He fuckin sucks so bad, its infuriating that he came out the "winner" between him and Ant. Still getting paid a shit load to be a mediocre, crybaby, radio hack.

I don't go back and listen to it much, but even if it was "good" (without the extra hackery Opie brings) I just hate that shock jock everything has to be a joke bullshit. Just talk. No stupid stunts. No Cherry Darts. No lesbian couches. Just have an interesting/funny discussion. That's why Opie gets such a pass in the pre XM days. Once they get onto XM and all that shock jock horseshit started to fade, it became clear Opie is absolutely abysmal at having a good, substantial conversation. Combine that with not even being funny in any way, and you have a guy who was just a fucking burden to Ant and Jimmy for a decade.
I can't even begin to fathom how frustrating it had to be to go into that studio every day and constantly seeing/hearing the show drug down by that talentless nothing. They'll all dance around his contributions with bullshit manufactured narratives about how Opie "wasn't suppose to be the funniest" and the wheels would fall off if he wasn't there and how they wouldn't be there without him, but you know they loved when he wasn't around. Like I remember being frustrated with the Greggshells video cause I wanted more than "Opie could be hard to work with". I wanted Anthony to admit that Opie was a talentless burden for atleast a decade, and that everyone loved when he wasn't around. Listen to any show without him. The mood is euphoric on nearly every NOpie show that I've ever heard.
The only thing that could be more frustrating is to be Jimmy and sit there not believing the unbelievable bad luck that led to OPIE being the guy who he has to do a show with every day. Like imagine remembering how funny and entertaining Ant was and then trying to be entertaining yourself and having like half of what you say just get barreled over by this talentless asshole.
If you ever want more proof of who the third (broken) wheel is, think of Ant, Jim, and Opie. Imagine they are new to the show in say...08-2013. Each of them come on for a week and play the role they supposedly played. Anthony and Jimmy would easily be asked to come back. There's not a chance in the world that Opie would even be considered to be brought back. Because hes been coasting off the fact that he started an awful incarnation of the show for 20 years.
I also hate that he "won". Any of the rare times I see a video of Opies show now, I just get so annoyed. Just seeing him leaning back in his chair, talking to a celebrity like hes this prolific interviewer who made it on his own. He'd still be spinning records if he had to succeed on his own merit...
That is a mouthful, but I agree. It makes Jim look even worse when he keeps taking the paycheck and saying bullshit like "Me and Ope don't hate each other, I love doing a show with him, he's my friend" when you can hear his soul being drained any time they're in studio together.
I think once Anthony gives up on Opie completely, he will mercilessly trash him, I hope so anyway. Right now there's still a chance they will mend their professional relationship, or they want it to look that way for whatever reason.
It'd be great if Ant somehow ended up doing a show with Jim & Sam (super unlikely) and they spent a good hour or two just breaking down why Opie was the worst guy to work with and what a sociopathic asshole he was off-air, the way Opie used to do, gleefully, about the guys he worked with, former bosses, etc.
I feel like this what the show needs to be. Dan is like a less volatile version of Ant, Sam is a more entertaining version of Opie and we still keep our lovable worm Norton. Seriously, they need to make this happen. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time
