In 2007, was Bill Burr going to potentially replace Jimmy as third mic? Have never heard of this till just now.

Ive seen youtube comments, and the occasional ones here, referencing Jimmy almost being replaced by Bill or Bob Kelly around that 07/08 time when they were both on like once or more a week. Never heard anything on the show about it though.
Someone gimme the scoop

I think that's when Norton was filming Lucky Louie so he had to be gone for a week or weeks at a time. This was the first time O&A fans really responded to Burr. I think it was more of a joke that they would tell because they knew Jimmy was sitting in LA scared to lose his seat. I don't think he was ever actually gonna be replaced.

A fella on YouTube tried telling me that Bill moved to LA because they wouldn't pay him to be on the show as much as he was on. I figured that didn't make sense since Bill did the show forever without getting paid. He also said that they talked about it on the show a little bit after Bill had already moved to LA and it wasn't on the table anymore but he couldn't give me anything to reference.
I figured the typical poster here would know the shows history better than a commentor on YouTube.

I think at the height of O&A guys like Patrice would get paid if they were there for the whole show or if they were sitting in for one of them, but I don't think that lasted long. Sirius is bad about paying people. That person is probably talking about something else. Burr and derosa had a Saturday night show on O&A channel that only lasted like 10 shows. I guess they barely got paid so when opie casually brought up burr putting some of his podcast on O&A channel during a phoner burr jokingly was like nah I don't get paid in exposure anymore. I guess it wasn't really a joke but it wasn't like he was taking a jab at opie. He was really talking about Sirius.

Oh yeah, Uninformed. I forgot how early on they were doing that show. That makes sense that they never got Bills podcast then too. They obviously wanted to pay him next to nothing, good for him for turning them down.

Burr has talked about why he moved to LA before. He said there just wasn't anything for him to do in ny except stand up and O&A, but I don't think there was any real talk of him coming on as a permanent co host. If anything Patrice was on there more than anyone who wasn't a host. He was on there like 110 or 120 times in 5 or 6 years.

It was probably because K-Rock hated Jimmy (or XM... whatever company it was)

Theres a clip on YouTube of Jim talking about K-Rock/CBS or whatever wanting to shove him out but I dont think he said anything about a replacement. He made it sound like they just didnt want to pay for a third mic.

Amy Schumer was also slated, that's part of the reason Opie's mad I think.
