Jerry's a good egg to his friends.

It's a shame he's friends with Tom Papa...

What's wrong with having a baker as a friend? I like to eat warm bread

You like warm bread? Sir, have I got the employment opportunity of a lifetime for you.

He's just a warm little Sourdough boy!

I like Tom Papa better than Dan Soder and his shrill midwest lady voice cutting into my eardrums every time he's in studio

At least Tom Papa can play off Jimmy's characters too

such bullshit, why do the networks hate colin besides his voice? i mean you have jerry fucking seinfeld vouching for you and still nothing.

I posted his fucking Cop Show finale on /r/videos that had Jerry playing himself as a serial killer saying "I invented hipsters!" How does something like that not go viral- and yet they fucking downvoted it for no reason.

People fucking stink.

How does something like that not go viral

Because it wasn't very funny or well executed. Just like everything in Cop Show.

Faggot.

I fucking love colin and think he's probably in the top 2 or 3 funniest living inprovisers, but his written material just isn't 1/10th as funny as him just talking or telling stories. I want to like Cop Show really bad, but it's not like it's anywhere near a career-definer for him. The writing is way, way too much camera-winking, like he's so self-conscious he has to make sure that we know that he knows that we know that he's self-aware. The intentional over-acting, by Colin and almost everyone else, they obviously weren't even going for naturalistic, but I think it's a bad choice made mainly because colin is too self-conscious to earnestly try to act in his own project. It would be better if he at least committed to trying to do it straight ahead without the ironic overacting. He's too self conscious like any true artist.

And there's also the problems of the format/genre: so, he's playing himself as Colin quinn, which we know from the references to other things from his career, and obviously it's a parody version of colin, but you end up with the show within the show (intentional overacting), then the faux-documentary show itself (cop show, more naturalistic but still obvious script reading, not naturalistic dialog), and then you have real world colin, but colin keeps trying to Jam his ironic, self-aware camera winking into the scripts where characters on the show within the show refer to things from real world Colin's real career (eg SNL and his early specials), and then comment on it in weird, unrealistically hostile ways, so we're seeing real Colin play a parody version of real Colin the actor, who is playing a cop on a show within a show, where everyone over acts and everyone seems to have intimate knowledge of Colin's career history. He's going "see, I'm self-effacing cuz I'm having Seth Myers (as himself) busting my balls about my early specials, but obviously since I, colin, wrote the material, its actually me being self-deprecating? See, I'm not pretentious or above the material, I'm mocking myself!" which is great but it just comes off as so unnatural compared to like, Louie, for instance. And when Jerry was confessing to being the killer, he's talking shit about Colin's career, in character as the killer. So what, did colin the cop used to be colin the comic? How would the character of Jerry the serial killer know about real Colin's career? And how would he have talked to network execs on Colin's behalf if colin is a cop in the show? It makes no fucking sense.

I think what Colin should do - and I'd actually bet money that this is what he already really wanted to do, but he's too self-conscious about his writing and acting to do it (yet) - if he wants to do written shit (which honestly, he's so funny off the cuff I'd rather see him hosting a show), he should do a single camera, stripped down, low episode per season show that he writes and directs that's at least somewhat autobiographical, or pick a topic only he can do justice to like race and have a theme, and just drop the artifice and pretense of a "genre" show and just rip off Louie. That's what Maron did and Colin's about 3 million times funnier than Maron.

And I guarantee he wants to do that but wouldn't because 1) he's too self conscious about his writing and 2) he doesn't want to be in Louie's shadow or compares to Louie cuz the first few seasons would be hard to top. I think there must be some bad blood between colin and Louie cuz they never ever appear in each other's work even though they're in the same circles and use all the same Cellar guys. If you look at the list of Louie guest stars it's all Colin's friends. So I think he scared of that comparison.

But if he's gonna do it and put it out there and have it be part of his legacy, then he should just fucking do it. Don't do this cutesy "look how self aware I am" schtick, don't intentionally overact, don't crowbar in self-effacing references to the real Colin and joke about your career, actually try to make a real show. Not a parody of a show, a real show. And see how it goes. But don't give us this half hearted, winking not trying too hard bullshit, cuz it's beneath you. I'd rather watch Colin's substandard real acting than Colin's intentional overacting.

I didn't read any of that, because you are a dickbag.

If you were trying to hurt my feelings, then congratulations, cuz you did.

Can I buy some cocaine from you?

They should just have Colin and the Tough Crowd guys act out Cop Show sketches and break character like Whos Line Is It Anyway! Hahaha!

Yeah, I love Colin far more than any of the O&A comedians as a guest. But Cop Show just stinks.

Mostly his politics. They're afraid of exposing someone with obvious talent, but who doesn't pander to their agenda. A shame, considering how desperately they need quality comedians right now.

What are his politics? He just seems like some schlubby guy.

If you watch Tough Crowd, it's clear that he's a bitter old conservative at heart. Not as far right as DiPaolo, but along the same lines.

I'm pretty sure that he said on O&A that he's been registered as a Democrat his whole life but gets pegged as a conservative because he doesn't speak about race in an apologetic tone. Politics aside Cop Show should be on cable.

Yeah he's not a conservative really, he just doesn't like lapping the ass of everyone tanner than he, and apologizing for existing.

I guess that's a conservative in 2016.

Incorrect.

In his book he said he was a lifelong democrat.

Democrat but not a communist

because Colin's not one of them.

Emails about Jerry pitching Unconstitutional:

Jerry sends them a presentation on Cop Show:

Here's where they turn him down:

Got a call from agent of the Colin Quinn show – was referred to me through George Shapiro. Am I ok to tell them how this show doesn’t fit into our model?

Sorry, Colin. Also note his email was [email protected]

Colin's email was my favorite thing about that leak (right next to the Ghostbusters leak about how Sony ruined everything and delineating if they could sue Bill Murray). Fucking love that man. If he's changed it since then, I wanna use it.

My nigga Jerry better land himself a nice slot in the next O&A power rankings

"You have miscalculated"

Man, Apatow is such a cunt

That's Yiddish for "perhaps less than that!"

D'aww, I guess sometimes Jews do act like people :)

I find that every jew has atleast 1 goyim that they carry around and try to protect from other jews because they love them. I think colin is jerry's goyim.

Thanks for posting something good on this sub. Not the same metzger, schumer bull shit.

Thank god they didn't, Sony tanks anything they touch.

Would like to see Col get a big payday regardless

Colins cop show is awesome

See this Amy. Thats how you treat your friends.

Nice find

So i guess that confirms what he was talking about in Cop Show, so the reply he probably got was "Colin Que?"
