Agreed. I also appreciated Sam not just reading a news story, like Opie does. He was able to actually just have a discussion with Jim about it. Jim seemed much more "open" with Opie out of the studio....and without the likes of Vic Henley or one of those morons laughing/talking over everything.
I'm listening to it now and it's genuinely great radio. That little cro-magnon, racially ambigious, afro-sporting fuck with the awful voice is slowly winning me over. Hopefully Opie is out of the picture for good soon.
Opie will never leave I don't think. If he did I would start listening again for this. There is no way I could suffer through another show with opie, it kinda ended for me around the Sirius xm merger anyway.
I hate to say it, but that whiney voiced mulatto does a great job. It's been a long time since I laughed that hard at anything on this channel that didn't have the word Bennington in it.
Today's show was actually fun.
The worm briefly reminded us that given a bit of warmth he could become a Butterfly (fun fact, many species of butterfly enjoy human urine).
Now do this 3 hrs every morning Mon-Fri.
Show title suggestions-
Friends forever, Jim & Sam
With friends and loved ones. Jim & Sam.
Come on in. The Jimmy & Sammy show.
Forgiveness and understanding. Sam and Jim.
A warm joke with loved ones. Jim & Sam.
Absent friends and new ones. Jim & Sam.
Awkward, lonely men. Sam and Jim.
Mother? Sam & Jim.
Steve C's final 5 minutes. Jim & Sam.
This is very good radio. meaningful radio, if there is such a thing; funny riffing and musing on the mechanics and behind-the-scenes doings of a big, albeit retarded, news story. It's vintage Stern-esque. Another comedic voice in the room, riffing while Jimmy was breaking down the mechanics, would have put this over the top.
It also helped that this is a subject near and dear to Jimmy's anus.
Not only is this much better than anything Tits can lactate out, or the current pitiful offerings from Stern; it puts all the kids table shit to shame: LOS, YKWD, the Vosch's bickerfest, etc.
I hate Sam, but I don't hate him as much now. He's 10,000x the ship-steerer Tits tries to be. Ship-steering was never just about guiding the conversation; you're supposed to contribute, too, and Sam obviously does.
Sirius has absolutely no reason whatsoever to re-sign Tits.

When Vic Henley fills in song lyrics to old/niche songs, I optimistically hope for a brain haemorrhage.

You mean "charitably"

Maybe that's the first sign the hemorrhage took..

It really was great. Very entertaining. Sam steered the ship perfectly.

So good. Through Anthony in the mix and I'll keep on subscribing.

Sam should "host" the show- the Opie role- and Ant and Jim can bring the jokes and comment.

Yeah bennington is amazing. Did you hear the discussion on friday about how many great albums a band needs to be considered legendary?

Agree. I have about a 45 minute commute to work. Today was the first time in a long time that I spent the whole commute listening to the show.

Why does the show continue to use that picture of Norton with hair? He looks like a middle aged lesbian pro golfer.

Was good for 10 mins then the gossipy snarkiness got to be too much
