Holy shit I slept on this show, and based on the amount of buzz I see it getting, it seems like everyone else is too. If you need a show to watch, then go with Peaky Blinders. Everything about it is amazing. The cast is great, the writing is top notch, the set pieces and wardrobe look amazing, and the music is too. It's only 6 episodes per season which is the perfect size to consume in These times of an over saturated market and favors quality over quantity. The show never lags or leaves you bored, the stakes are always high. Cillian Murphy is a great lead and Tom Hardy da God also plays a pretty big role as a fucking awesome character. I can't say enough praise for this show and if you enjoyed Sopranos or Boardwalk I cannot see a possible way you won't love this show.
Oh yeah....the biggest and most important piece of advice I can give you (and this truly is YUGE). Make sure you watch the show with the subtitles on. The only thing that almost kept me from getting into it was the heavy cockneyed accents in episode 1, but once I put the subtitles on it was perfect

Lol that's what happens in movies and tv. There's not many ugly actors out there getting work. Shootout to Bill Camp on The Night Of representing for the ugly monsters around the globe. Plus the war is over, now they're just gangsters that men wanna be and women wanna fuck. I don't see the issue. So far the 2 major criticisms with the show have been dudes complaining that the guys are "too hot" or "too cool"

I looked over to my gf and went on a diatribe about how hacky it is, and how every director wants to make that Tarrantino shot (this guy did his through the reflection of a puddle-ohhhhh so original). But then I also admitted that it basically does always look cool and how if I was directing a movie about fucking space id still somehow shoehorn in a "gang in suits walking in slow motion scene".
I get your point, I even acknowledged your point in real time, and despite all of this....yes I still thought it was very cool. Is that one shot the reason you stopped liking the show? Do you just hate shows about "cool guys"

Have you watched Peaky Blinders? I watched the Office cough overrated cough and didn't have any problems with it. But PB I definitely needed them. I can obviously make most of it Out but in a show with important dialogue, a lot of dialogue, and heavy accents I definitely needed it. I asked if you ever watched it cause I'm curious if you would acknowledge that some of the accents are actually pretty thick, or if you don't think that at all and I'm Just flat out wrong

yes but i'm english so perhaps more used to the accents. i'd say its more the music and modern trend in acting to mumble than accents that make things unclear like with Tom Hardys character. It's not the accent imo.
