I think part of her being upset about it was Pat Dixon, a nobody in the comedy world, was the one saying it. If Bobby or Colin made some quick witted "retard" joke, I guarentee you Bonnie would laugh and play along with it. Especially if she was on Comedy Central.
All he'd do was bitch about a twitter feud he's having with some guy with 30 followers that nobody but he cares about. I've never seen someone so obsessed with social media, the man is deranged.
Maybe not as great but id still love to see it. Soder, big jay, Davidson, and Jeselnik could fit in. Norton, Dipaolo, Bobby and vos are ways great woth colin. I could see Burr and CK making appearances.
Exactly stop trying to recreate the past. The things that made show funny will never happen again. Greg going at it with Dennis Leary, Patrice and Pat Cooper together, Vos and Patrice trashing Dat Phan. Those moments are what made the show great. Trying to recreate something that was a moment in time never works.
I'd hate to burst everyone's bubble but I doubt this will lead to anything. Where would he do it? Comedy Central hated the show 10 years ago and it's only gotten worse
With the return of actual comedy "shows" like Roast Battle and This is Not Happening to Comedy Central, I could see them bringing back Tough Crowd. Colin has done a lot of great work since Tough Crowd was cancelled.
People always say this and it wouldn't. The show was full of so much visual ball busting (making fun of someone's obesity, clothes, style, etc.) that it would make a horrible listen
That's a good point. If only Ant wasn't such a complete bag of shite/failure as a network owner he could have actually had something decent go on in the studio.
Never heard the term, but JRE is a podcast right? With visual elements...You can listen to it with or without the video. No reason TCWCQ wouldn't have a chance under the same format.
It would make a good podcast if there's a max of 5 people (4 guests and Colin, like the original) not like bobby's podcast where he has a dozen people for one show
Sometimes I listen to old OnA shows where they have more than five people on and it's nearly unlistenable. The last one was when Ian Halperin was in with his two whores and they had Jim Jefferies, Opie, Metzger, and Ant. They were just constantly talking over one another and stepping on each others lines. I was actually hoping for an Opie "HOLD ON" to let them know that it was utter shit, but he only did that when he thought he had a good line. Jefferies was the only good part of that show, Metzger was a faggot as usual.
Wilmore won't get shit canned, it's the show that cried racist at everything, so can you imagine what would happen when the "Diversity Hire African American Half Hour Hackathon" gets shit canned.
Even though it has lost 60% of the audience that was in that time slot, has given Franchesca Ramsey, a woman who actually said "Political correctness actually expands free speech! The words 'mansplaining', 'genderfluid' and 'genderqueer' were added to the dictionary, that means more words! Therefore, more free speech!", a steady job and the fact that Wilmore pulls the exact same "You honkies gon' argue wid dis?!" face in every picture.
But he's black, talking about the white man his holding a brother down... despite him being on TV, in a job given to him by his white friends, having worked on numerous award winning shows, and his brother is an executive producer on The Simpsons... but the white man is holding mah niggas down!
I would love Tough Crowd to come back. Bring back the old regulars(be nice to see guys like CK and Burr back in the Cumia loop), and sprinkle in all the young guys who are on their way up. Call it Rough Crew if Colin can't get the rights to it.
I would prefer it being on television somehow someway(CC), and not another fucking podcast(same old shit with these podcasts), but if TV isn't happening, Colin gotta get on the TACS network. I don't see why Ant can't work on getting Jimmy in October and in the 99% chance it doesn't happen, then turn to giving Colin a 1 year thing and then get the fuck out of his way and let him do his thing 3x a week. I don't see why he can't throw Colin 500-600 a week to keep him honest. I think TC on his network would bring in A LOT of disgruntled O&A fans who aren't on board right now, or weren't from the beginning.
You are on drugs if you think there's a remote possibility any of that could happen. Why the FUCK would a respected comedian like CQ accept a regular slot on a failing, racist basement podcast hosted by a (now) unfunny old loon? And there is ZERO chance of Jimmy joining full-time either. He stays where the money is, of course he does.
Colin is probably not happening either, but I don't think it's impossible. He is a local guy, loyal to Ant, and if this truly is a passion project for him to bring this back, why not use Ant's studio to get it done if CC isn't interested?
Even if Colin does one show a week......it's something where if he is busy doing his Broadway stuff, or writing a book, or doing Cop Show, etc, it's a format where he can come into the studio and bang off 5 shows at a clip and bank them for when he is busy(only thing is he would have to choose topics that aren't topical "story of the day" big stories).
Improbable, yes, but let's assume for a minute Colin truly wants to do this, and television/Netflix/YouTube all pass on it. What is a better format than TACS if you consider the equipment, the spot, the conviencnce, etc?
Look, I'm not a huge Colin fan. But Tough Crowd would not do anything unless it had a big name on it like John Stewart or someone similar. Colin is far from a big name no matter how many of you want to lick his taint.
The PC issues plaguing comedy would hold anything like this even remotely from happening and continuing.
He would also start to figure out "most of my friends aren't that funny!" Putting Jimmy on right away would help him see that. Because I bet he would do a tranny joke and maybe throw Robert Reid in there for something up to date.
With the return of actual comedy "shows" like Roast Battle and This is Not Happening to Comedy Central, I could see them bringing back Tough Crowd. Colin has done a lot of great work since Tough Crowd was cancelled.

Better hope nobody says "retard" or Bonnie will storm off stage dragging Rich with her.

It wouldn't be the same without Greg or Patrice, who were also the most talented members of that whole crew.

I think Kurt is hilarious and a great comic, but it's just not worth including him if it risks having Sherrod tag-along.

2 cabaretcabaret 2016-08-12
Obviously Colin is interested what has that possibly got to do with the likelihood of it coming back?
