During my late teens i was massively into music. Then i grew out of that phase of trying to use music to develop a personality and just became this nothingness.
So much easier and cheaper. Gig tickets were costing me a fortune.
Huey Lewis and The News. Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
ME: I'm all in with the French Black Metal these days. Hey, Jimmy! Where we at with the Deathspell Omega? You hear the new Baise Ma Hache yet? It's fawkin' brutalll...
Big fan of Led Zeppelin and the Tom Waits. Bach is my favorite composer.
Been listening to Sabbath lately as well. Wouldn't Little Jimmy Norton and Jim "no reason fuh dat" Florentine be proud. I like some modern metal (e.g. Opeth, Gojira, Meshuggah) but I wouldn't say I'm all in.
Paper mache dream balloon. Its an acoustic album thats pretty jarring to hear after something as fast paced as nonagon but it really quite good. Shows how talented these loveable weirdos are.
A lot of shit people find pretty gay. Foxy Shazam, Queen. Then other shit like Frank Turner and The Pogues. And I firmly believe Pink Floyd is the most overrated band to ever pick up a guitar, your opinion is worthless to me.
Crunkasaurus Rex! Metal God Jim Florentine told me they're the next Mud Puddle or even Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique! He said nothing is more metal than having one singer that's a prepubescent twink, one who screams unintelligible garbage, a glockenspiel player, harmonies in breakdowns, a music video with a Halloween house party, and a super fun, ironic name!
I really wish we could organize a Jocktobering of them because holy fuck, they make my teeth itch.
Rick Ross, Drake, Fat Joe, Jay Z, Beyoncé, Frank Ocean, R. Kelly, Kanye West, 2Chainz, Miguel, Lauren Hill, and some pop like Ariana Grande, Adele, Sam Smith, Taylor Swift.

Never heard of them before. I just listened to their EP, Le Jour Se Lève. It was pretty good, thanks for the rec.

Everything besides modern country... or modern pop. Most of the hip hop today sucks dicks, too. My wheelhouse is classic rock & jam bands.

I've been listening to a lot of Swedish Prog Metal recently.
It's part of this sort of 'life initiative' I have going right now to make every part of me completely shameful.
