I basically need to be listening to something at all times, or else I'll have to listen to my own thoughts and kill myself. I'd say I probably listen to 15 hours of talk per day, be it radio, podcasts or audiobooks. If I didn't go through so much audio I'd drop O and J for sure.

O and J is probably my only source of news, I didn't find out about the orlando shooting till they talked about it for example. Usually there's one funny thing per episode, but I am very easy to please.

The latest?

The show is trying to be very topical. Most days they have celebrity guests and spend a good chunk of time talking about sports or politics. The whole thing with trump was covered in monotonous detail. "where you at with the trump". The first new thing with politics in months is Jim is no longer an unconditional trump supporter.

If something really funny happens, they won't go with it. Funny ideas are never explored properly. Last time I remember them going with something was when the Stengels left the show.

They have a comedian in every day almost, and most of the time it's no one good. Certainly no one with good comedic chemistry with Jim. It's very clear that he is auditioning for a new host for when Jim leaves. They have the same comedian multiple days in a row, and it'll be mentioned specifically if they won't be back on for a while. People like Bob or Vos are on very very seldomly. Sherrod hasn't been on regularly since dassa besso, he was on all the fucking time before.

Opie no sells Jim's characters. He doesn't want him to do Uncle Paul, and will apparently stare into the distance like a vietnam vet when Jim does him.

Opie and Jim had a fight on air over a couple of days and it didn't get fully resolved. Since then there's been a ton of separate shows.

Jim has apparently been putting a lot of effort into his career this year. It seems likely that he'll leave in october and start his own podcast. It will probably stink, and every comedian has their own podcast already. He also won't get celebrity guests which seems like a problem for Jim. Personally I'm hoping he stays with sirius and does a show with Sam. They did a show together on monday and it was excellent (comparatively).

Oh and they condemned jocktober, Opie claiming he never liked it. This is clearly a lie, he just feels exposed without outrageous ant to take the heat. In fact that's what I feel is the biggest reason why the show stinks so much now. Lack of talent and good judgement are the other reasons.

He was never that good to begin with- he just made being inappropriate his thing and it worked as long as Jim/Ant were in the room to play off of it.

Then he got older, married, and the culture moved away from Shock Jock style radio. And when he stopped being "Shocking" he had absolutely nothing to fall back on.

Behaviorally something changed. He was never the best in the room but he had some degree of talent and drive. Even if it's bitching about the man or whatever. And yeah, comparatively he was the hole, but even back when the XM days were fresh he was still eons better than anything else out there.

Now he just seems like a no energy lump of shit. Even compared to 2013 when the writing was on the wall

I still listen to both, but not always the entire shows anymore. I now have podcasts from Kevin Brennan and Gilbert Gottfried to listen to.

I rarely listen to O&J. Will usually listen to a friend of the show broadcast or Bennington if it is on when I'm driving.

I need something on as background noise while I work and the couple bucks a month for TACS well worth it. Been listening to Ant for 15 years and his show is largely just a comfortable more of the same. ESDS is gold and NYCCR and Hot Water are well worth the subscription. Gavin is hit or miss and I usually skip Finoia's borefest.

I still like Ant, but his show is not worth the money. You can get it for free via vlc media player
