I think this is the main explanation for it, but whatever the reason, Jim is almost a completely different person than he was 5 years ago. He's just such a soft boring man now. He's rarely even willing to be mean as a bit that's intended to be funny these days, and when he does it's toned down a lot. That was such a core aspect of his humor.

And despite the fact that he's obviously trying to be a more accessible personality with a better public image, forcing his new sensitive, considerate attitude while turning around and talking about fucking trannies and drinking piss on stage has just made a creepy man even creepier.

The change might be affected by the company he works for and just being on Opie & Jim with its new direction that management loves, but it's with him constantly. Did anyone hear that episode of Cum Town with Jim on it? The only thing entertaining about it was that after Jim leaves you get to hear the other guys' bewilderment over the fact that radio and comedy veteran James Norton answered all of their questions humorlessly and literally and they just ended up discussing things like Jim's diet for an hour.

Difference is that targets of jocktober were doing lame radio. Leslie Jones is doing mediocre comedy but no worse than most comics & sketch actors out there.
