it was amazing for a good 10 years but I stopped paying attention to it around 2001 when the quality starting noticeably declining. Any time I've caught an episode since then I've been shocked at how bad it is. What's weird is that they'll be a whole new generation of fans now who probably have no idea how amazing and culturally relevant it used to be.
Got to hand it to Louis. That was passive aggressively hilarious. Then there's Norton, whose only frame of reference seems to be unprotected tranny sex and vague references to pedophilia.
Review: CK's brave and insightful take on toxic white masculinity and police brutality against the strong, sexy, intelligent, benevolent black man in 21st century America using Dadaist stylings with a Kafkaesque narrative really pushes the boundaries of not just comedy, or even art, but of human-creativity and capacity for compassion for the downtrodden.
When I went to interview CK for the his latest publicity tour about how he doesn't do publicity for his work because he is the truist of true artists, he delved into the most powerdul performance piece I have ever witnessed. As I was preparing to leave the room I glanced over at the doorway to find him with trousers around his ankles, emulating the chains that black men had to endure during slavery, and methaphically have to endure today whenever white people don't praise every little thing they do and fail to recognise they were kings, and shit. His slovenly belly gaping through his unwashed t-shirt, his balding-ginger head, and lecherous stare as he tugged on his pecka with inconsistent rhythm really was art for art's sake, and quite probably the work of the finest mind humanity has to offer, at his peak, undermining white male supremacy.
I don't think it's any more complicated than people thinking it'd be funny to start misspelling the worm's name to create confusion. I could be wrong on that though.

that generation is already here. if you're 20 years old, you were only 5 in 2001 when the show started to stink

I think what Jimmy's cartoon really needs is a new character to freshen things up
1 MilliBotany 2016-07-18
Could use about 23% more irony.
2 Jackthejew 2016-07-18
WHAT THE HELLS GOIN ON AROUND HERE??
2 chrb13 2016-07-18
Ah when The Simpsons was good.
2 im_not 2016-07-18
I'm out of the loop, what's the "Morton" thing from?
5 AngeloMacon 2016-07-18
Some dude misspelled his name on purpose, pretending not to know who Jim really was.
It's going to be a slow burn, but we will theoretically all have a good laugh when someone or some media outlet actually calls him Jim Morton.

tss Maybe they call 'im that 'cause he's a salty dog. tsstss
1 dassabessdoe 2016-07-18
Yeah, I'm lost on that one myself.

2 Lobstrich 2016-07-18

Oh, no, no, no, that's not Jim's cartoon, that's a Soviet-produced Gene Deitch cartoon from the 1960s.
1 MilliBotany 2016-07-18
Any relation to Kim Deitch, by chance, my good fellow?
2 DianaKurlan10 2016-07-18
Yes, Kim is Gene's son. I consider both of them to be tremendous artists.
2 hookahreed 2016-07-18
Kim Deitch?
tss. Why doesn't Kim Descratch it or sumthin?!
1 MilliBotany 2016-07-18
Fawkin homerun, Chippahson!
1 ScarletNumbers 2016-07-18
Well Louis CK's father is from eastern Europe.
And Jim is a parasite.
1 callmesnake13 2016-07-18
Someone should just replace the dialogue in Jim's cartoon with dialogue from Louie and make it a funny show.
