When the show was very sound effect heavy (WNEW & Early XM) both Opie and Anthony had had sound machines. There is no real robin because there was never a format to the show. They would just discuss random news until around 2007-2008 when Anthony went all in with the nigger hating.

He was just one of the producers that had access to a mic during the show. That position was rotated all the time. Sam was good at being a shit stirrer and drama. He is one of the only staff members that can really handle being on mic and doing a show. He did a pre and post show at one point. He was also in charge of the Jocktober bit it's where is talent really shinned.

One thing that has really come to light since the firing is how desperately opie spent years trying to find his little niche reason for being on the show and never succeeding. The mass following of Nopie shows must kill him inside.
