The bonfire is the best thing going. Just wish Big Jay would stfu about sex and stop trying to get pics from female callers. Get laid in your own fucking time.
This episode where they riff for an hour on all the horrible things Jason Miraz has done was the most O&A-like show I've heard -- https://youtu.be/0h2TTpneb9E
It does have its problems, including the callers, but the complaints about the 90s references ring hollow-- it's a show for a younger demographic, not every line has to be from The Godfather.
Artie Lange's podcast kicks the living shit out of The Bonfire.
This past week is a perfect example: The Bonfire guys went full finger-wagging faggots over the Johnny Rebel songs they chose to play, while Artie, speaking of The Godfather, did an insanely racist impression of Sterling Hayden (Captain McCluskey) as various other characters for an hour and a half.
Retarded? Absolutely. But it was also hilarious.
Artie can also switch gears and talk politics, shitting on the Clintons, Trump and his wife and kids, and everybody else on the scene who says/does something stupid. He also addresses non-political current events and celebrity news, and as an adult. The Bonfire guys don't take many, if any, swings at any big targets.
Artie snags the occasional good guest, too. He had the two (rival) dirty cops from "The Seven Five" on and they verbally duked it out. He's had various sports guys on, from David Wells to Joe Buck, where he peppers them with insanely inappropriate questions. He's actually interviewed Glenn Greenwald. Ann Coulter's been on a few times. A couple of the Spinal Tap guys: Michael McKean and Harry Shearer. Dennis Miller did a 20-minute phoner. Attell's been on a few times.
All of this is on top of the encyclopedia of degenerate stories Artie has to pull from. Big Jay's best story wouldn't crack Artie's top 100.
I like The Bonfire, but it's a niche. An appetizer. Until they decide they want to do this as their main gig, and they get a producer to steer the ship and force them to broaden their horizons, and they grow some balls and go after more people, they're going to be relegated to being the biggest kids at the kids table.
Have to disagree with you. I like Artie a lot and enjoy his podcast most of the time.
The Bonfire guys went full finger-wagging faggots over the Johnny Rebel songs they chose to play
I can't believe that this is an example of what you think is a bad thing. Johnny "Pee Wee" Rebel sucks and he deserves to be made fun of.
Regarding political stuff-- the last thing I want to hear is some random clown talk about something that they have no experience in, no knowledge that didn't come from the TV and no understanding of any of the substantive issues that drive the politics. Political talk is one of the worst things about the O&J show -- Jim demands that X group that he doesn't agree with stop having a different opinion and Op says "yeah." No thanks.
He's actually interviewed Glenn Greenwald.
Why would I want to hear some fat guinea interview one of the most controversial journalists alive?
Ann Coulter's been on a few times.
Why would I ever want to hear her on anything?
A couple of the Spinal Tap guys: Michael McKean and Harry Shearer. Dennis Miller did a 20-minute phoner. Attell's been on a few times.
I can't believe that this is an example of what you think is a bad thing. Johnny "Pee Wee" Rebel sucks and he deserves to be made fun of.
You're obviously retarded, so I'll type loudly....
OF FUCKING COURSE HE DESERVES TO BE MADE FUN OF!!! Jay and Dan weren't making fun of him (well, not much); they were (mostly) wagging their fingers at him, which isn't funny. Well, Jay was trying to play with it a bit, but Dan wasn't having any of it (folds arms, shakes head).
From Billy West's Marge Schott, to the Daniel Carver messages, to Artie and Gilbert together, to Artie on his podcast, pros/adults know how to play with race. They don't need to go all "OMG! This guy is a RACIST! And we don't like that!".
We know. Play beyond that. Or don't bring it up in the first place.
You're as retardedly wrong about most of the rest of your post, but I don't have the time or inclination to coach you up any further.
They didn't really "go there", as the kids are wont to say. Soder wouldn't let them. They dipped a toe in the water, then quickly moved on, in-between a dozen disclaimers about what a rotten human being the guy is/was.
We get it, Dan; the guy's a retarded redneck. Now make with the funny!
Conversely, Artie just did 10 minutes on that whore that tried to shake down Chris Rock. He made up a back story for her, calling her Babs from Suckajigcock County.
Artie goes places Corporate Dan and Big Jay McPuss wouldn't dream of going. Retarded, yet necessary places (and not just racial ones; someone posted clips of some of his comments about Big Amy on another thread here, comments 1,000 miles above anything Dan or Jay would have the balls to say). He can do it because he has the right tone, and that tone is "fuck you; it's funny!".
Listening to Artie sling it footloose and fancy-free makes everybody else seem like that much more of a pussy, imo.
Yeah, The Bonfire isn't perfect but I know I'm guaranteed at least a few laughs per show. People on here will shit all over The Bonfire or LOS but then hate-listen to O&J, something that's just awful. It's retarded
He gets a little fame and can finally fuck women, instead of just jerking off into his fingerless gloves like the fat loser he must have been in high school. So he feels the need to talk about it constantly.
Now let me get back to polishing the glass of my framed psychology phd. Hammana hammana hammana.
my favorite is when they take calls and the chick is so dirty shes just as dirty as men, and she goes on and on for an hour about all she evr wants is to suck and fuck, then my main man big jay there asking for that sweet sweet pussy pix, i just have to stop my truck u know what i mean
Jay is best with Dave and Luis. They're more comfortable with each other and very similar. They all call each other out on shit and can laugh at each other. Jay and Dan aren't a bad pairing at all, but it's too much of a 'happy-to-be-there' atomsohere. That sounds rather cynical but I like my enterainemtn to be at least a little downtrodden
They should just put the work in instead of seeing it as a side gig. If they would do a little bit of prep and figure out their format they could be great. How about Jay tries to not just endlessly use his dick talk crutch and Soder tries to not going straight to the impressions. Listen to that clean christmas show they did. They can do it if they put the effort into it. But no Instead they smoke some weed and just "hang".
Have to disagree with you. I like Artie a lot and enjoy his podcast most of the time.

It's the best comedy radio show going.
This week's second episode was fantastic -- https://youtu.be/We6HYniFRm8

Agreed. The callers are annoying, but it's not a fatal flaw. This sub only has two settings, though. "Flawless" or "dogshit".

There's actually a thread about it here:

They made a whole bit out of Johnny Rebel writing racist lyrics in a leatherbound notebook in a coffee shop.

And then shitting on anyone who'd call Bonnie hot
