The john oliver video where he calls donald trump "donald drumf" or some faggy shit is one of the highest watched video on youtube.
I think whoever is running comedy central and Viacom needs to jump into moving traffic for letting him go to score points with their minority hire
They artificially inflate that shit for political reasons. The amy and seth rogan bud light commercial was trending on twitter before the video even had 500 views
It's pretty easy for any company to inflate their views and get shut trending, music videos do it all the time. They can't let anyone know the viewership for these shows is small. There can't be more than 23 people watching The Nightly Show.
Your the 2nd guy who's said that. Fuck you both. I don't give a fuck about some bullshit tv show. I just wanted to see if anyone would say anything funny about how badly I'm sure it sucks.
Letting Oliver go wasn't even their dumbest mistake. Chris Rock said he was interested in doing it, but he only wanted a one year contract at first to see if the job would interfere with his family life. Comedy Central refused Chris Rock and then hired Trevor fucking Noah.
Whoever is in charge over there is a simple minded buffoon.
Viacom agreed and sent her packing. I used to watch Comedy Central all the time, but in the last 5 years all original programming has SUCKED. Except Key and Peele, Nathan for You, and The Ben Show, which they canceled after one season.
He was calling him Donald Drumpf because Trump had a penchant for poking fun at people for having "fake names," Jon Stewart for example. Also for Trump's affinity for putting his last name on everything.

You might as well open with "Hi everyone, speaking as a cunt..." for all the difference it makes.
He's saying Viacom/Comedy Central are idiots for letting Oliver go and giving the reigns of a prominent late night show to a retarded African teenager.
The show doesn't need to end. They just picked the wrong guy. Stewart had been on MTV, appeared in Adam Sandler movies, regularly appeared on Stern, had a failed syndicated late night show, appeared on Larry Sanders, etc. before the Daily Show. There was always alot of buzz in the press about him someday being the next great late night host of his generation. He proved he could go back and forth between high brow and low brow. But it's like they ignored all the work Stewart put in developing trust with American audiences before the Daily Show that allowed him to go back and forth between being a nasty Jersey wiseass and a preachy Jewish liberal. Instead it's like Comedy Central reduced the secret to Stewart's popularity to him being liberal, young and handsome enough, so the South African version of that will also work.
Letterman also wanted him to replace Tom Snyder, but CBS went for Craig Kilbourn because he was a bigger star in 1999 and they thought he could beat Conan. Then he fell off the face of the earth.
Trevor Noah seems like a guy who's conversationally funny, at least the one time he did O&A. That said his Twitter feed stinks and I therefore hope South Africa returns to Apartheid soon.
He talked about his parents having to walk on opposite sides of the road and people harassing them when seen together. To have an entire political system trying to keep Trevor Noah from being born, how could there be anything wrong with that?
Agreed. He was definitely not the right choice for the job. To be fair they were at a disadvantage with losing Colbert to CBS and John Oliver to HBO but there were still better choices than one of the newest members of the show; a black South African almost no one knew about. Russell Peters may be the biggest comedian in the world but that doesn't mean he'd be a hit on American television.
Larry Wilmore would have been a better choice but unfortunately they had already given him his own show that also sucks.
They just need to accept they will not be able to replace Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert for news related humor.
Absolutely. They totally dropped the ball on that one. Every episode was funny and thought provoking as it truly showed different views on topics. Also half the episodes turned into mini-roasts lol.
Trevor Noah is such a disaster. They need to unload him, pay him whatever to get out of his contract and get anyone else. Literally anyone. Bumping up Larry Wilmore would be better. Getting fucking Janeane Garafolo or Margaret Cho would be better. Seriously
Larry Wilmore wouldn't be great but it would be a step up. Atleast he is out there doing stuff. i come across articles every now & then about something Larry said or did. At the very least, Larry is not a worse choice than Trevor
I agree, Stewart in an election year (2011-12) used to rake in 1.7 million viewers a night by himself. That's not even including Colbert with 1-1.2 million also.
Noah and Wilmore can't even break 1.2 million combined.
I'm not disagreeing. I'm just saying that's how bad Trevor. I've even changed my opinion that Sherrod would be better just because he most likely would stack the show with Comedy Cellar type people as writers & performers that could bring just the littlest of something to the show that would elevate it from what Trevor is doing. But as a flat out guy reading jokes to a camera, Sherrod would be worse than Trevor
The only person that I could imagine as less funny and a worse than just about any person on earth (including criminals and tyrants) is Janeane Garafolo. I can't even comprehend how anyone can even refer to her as entertaining. She is as funny as having a cyst lances, but with less joy.
Oh jesus him with that fat tongue out and doing a southern uhh huh when talking with some physicist that has a book on theory of time or some shit would be incredible. We have to see that trainwreck, just motion of time and fuckin.
Give noah money to lie and say he is more interested in stand up then hire a new white jew to dispense with the neo liberal corporate propaganda that is losing more and more power thanks to the internet.
But....but white privilege and affirmative action and and black lives matter.
Also didn't the cunt who hired Noah and Larry Wilmore and Amy get kicked to the curb by comedy central?
Trevor Noah is just a desperate attempt to appeal to an audience that doesn't have enough pull to bring up ratings. At least Jon Stewart was interesting enough to get people who hated his politics to watch so they could yell about him. Noah is just insufferably politically correct and a safe SJW who offers no real fire and interest.
He's also a mixed kid from fucking South Africa, who isn't old enough or American enough to comment or criticize jack shit about the inter-working of the US political system. No one wants to hear some 30 year old from the most racist country on earth criticize a political system he's tentatively familiar with.
Yep. But in America, and a large portion of the world, a large group of people with no sense assume that celebrities are intelligent and know about everything. Brad Pitt was a dolt for years until he got super famous and then suddenly he walks around with a self satisfied look on his face like he is superior and smarter than everyone else but in reality he is still a dolt. Same with his wife and most of the clique they hang out with. Look at Amy Schumer, she's a know nothing but as soon as she had a moderately successful film and TV show she gets invited to the fucking white house and tweets as if she knows all there is about every SJW subject. Trevor Noah is a little bit funny, as black as Obama and has the SJW streak so he is immediately tossed into a TV show he has no business being on. And when it gets cancelled he won't be blamed for being shitty on the show, it will all be blamed on racism and white privilege.
Hollywood and the celebrities in it need to get knocked down a peg. But that'll never happen as long as the nimrods retweet every little thing they say as if it's the wisdom of the ages and reinforce the delusion that they are all some sort of intellectual elite.
Brad Pitt is still a fucking dolt. I remember he would only do a one on one with Bill Maher and then he agreed to do the panel the next time he came on........and then he never came on. Didn't want some conservative chewing him up on live tv.
I knew this was the Sam Harris clip before I even clicked on it. Its what happens when somebody who has literally succeeded him life because of their looks thinks they are qualified to verbally spar with a legitimate intellectual.
Affleck humiliated himself but at the same time I'm sure all of his hollywood friends patted him on the back for a sticking up for the downtrodden. What's worse is that Affleck really started a trend here in calling anyone who criticizes Islam racist. Its always been around, but now people throw the phrase "your a racist" around so casually that it almost doesn't even mean anything anymore.
I don't think he realized he would get gangbanged by Bill and Sam, when O and A talked about this back in the day, one of them brought up the point, that no one in his personal circles has ever challenged him because of his fame and status.
IMHO that is what it is, Ben was never corrected for spouting dumb shit. He was out of his element, because no one was trying to kiss his ass there.
I like that it backfired. The show has a self-loathing white American audience, so they thought a perfect host would be someone who's not white and not American. "He can criticize us for our terrible racist country! It'll be hilarious!" The show stopped being about comedy years ago. During Bush's Presidency Stewart defended the show against accusations of bias by saying they just attack the powers that be, which happened to be Republican at the time. Once Obama got elected they shifted to attacking Fox News or anyone else in the media who attacked the powers that be.
That is definitely the main thing, but the direction of the show was becoming so far left politically in Stewart's final years that it wasn't even trying to be funny half the time. I used to look forward to the daily show in 2005 because it made fun of whoever was being an ass. 2015 daily show was making fun of (or trying to) "the right" exclusively even though there was plenty of fodder on both sides.
Yeah, definitely too skewed and a tad too self-righteous. Still though, JS had the comedic sensibilities to pull it off and make it funny instead of in-your-face obnoxious. Noah tries too hard and it shows. IMO he takes himself more seriously that Stewart ever did.
They should have brought back Craig, and brought back the original format. When the show was more about mocking the local news, and less about having important opinions on politics.
I was halfway into the 5th paragraph before I gave up. Why would an article by a huge outlet be blathering on like this. I kept looking, and looking, and looking. Didn't find it and gave up. I didn't see the 'daily show CANCELLED' mention that would be the only thing that would possibly justify that many paragraphs, that much prep blather.
Then I caught it. The tiny little word 'tweet' in the first paragraph, that I had, justifiably, overlooked.
Entire news articles based on tweets. Fuck this. Fuck you. Ant, it's a little late in the game, but #IStandWith you now.
They should just flip the format. Have him out of nowhere take the conservative side on every issue. Make the audience boo and become uncomfortable multiple times a tap in and have huffpo and slate publish article after article about how he's the Devil (dvv dvv). That would at least shake things up.
Yes, he took the bit about polite racists from Killing Them Softly. I think he said he couldn't possibly have taken it because he didn't live in America when it came out in 2000. Like it hasn't been on You Tube for 10 years.
I wonder if Jon Stewart was involved in picking his replacement? Cause if he did he picked someone who has no business doing the job and is killing the brand he helped build.
I heard the new version blows but am yet to watch it. They should have renamed it. Everyone is going to be critical because what made the old top gear good was 90% the trio and about 10% cars.
I remember when Jon Stewart was a guest on Trevor's Daily Show, appearing to talk about pressure on the Senate to pass a 9/11 Responders Bill. Jon Stewart was only on for about 1/3 of the episode and he had more fire and venom in his delivery than Trevor Noah had for the duration of his tenure so far. It really exposed how different Noah is as the host, and not necessarily different for the better.
But bear in mind, it took Jon Stewart about 2 years (maybe even more) before he made the Daily Show his own. So maybe Noah just needs more time to develop.
I'd have preferred Samantha Bee taking over the show, frankly. I don't always agree with her but I think she's crushing it on her current show.
I haven't watched TDS for a few months and i have to say the thing that really made me tune out was the show really felt more liberal leaning, more PC pandering than any point during Jon's run.
Don't get me wrong, the show has always had a liberal slant, but the jokes were there and Jon liked to shit on both sides of the argument.
A lot of the correspondents also got replaced with the current rainbow of diversity. Sofar General Zhao, Hasan Minhaj and Jordan Klepper are okay(just okay), but everyone else is just simply unfunny. Jessica Williams is terrible and there is news that she will be leaving the show soon.
Trevor comes off as stiff and uncomfortable, and i generally don't think he was vetted strongly before taking the reins from Jon. One can only hope that he and the writing team can work on their material and bring back the close to 40% viewership that left.
Well, I think it was more or less pointing out the absurdity of making fun of name changes. Again to poke fun at Trump for doing the exact same thing to people as he did Jon Stewart or how Bill O'Reilly did to Colbert with just the pronunciation of his name.

5 [deleted] 2016-06-28
Brad Pitt is still a fucking dolt. I remember he would only do a one on one with Bill Maher and then he agreed to do the panel the next time he came on........and then he never came on. Didn't want some conservative chewing him up on live tv.
9 CoolerKing37 2016-06-28
Brad Pitt maybe a typical, Hollywood liberal but he was at least smart enough not to make a fool of himself like Ben Affleck did:

I knew this was the Sam Harris clip before I even clicked on it. Its what happens when somebody who has literally succeeded him life because of their looks thinks they are qualified to verbally spar with a legitimate intellectual.
Affleck humiliated himself but at the same time I'm sure all of his hollywood friends patted him on the back for a sticking up for the downtrodden. What's worse is that Affleck really started a trend here in calling anyone who criticizes Islam racist. Its always been around, but now people throw the phrase "your a racist" around so casually that it almost doesn't even mean anything anymore.
5 AntsCamera 2016-06-28
That is so douch chilling.
I love how Ben turned Opie and got all high pitched.
Sam Harris: I am actually very educated on this.= shut up you empty headed Hollywood fuck.
2 racemic_mixture 2016-06-28
I really liked how pouty he became. What a child.
1 AntsCamera 2016-06-28
I don't think he realized he would get gangbanged by Bill and Sam, when O and A talked about this back in the day, one of them brought up the point, that no one in his personal circles has ever challenged him because of his fame and status.
IMHO that is what it is, Ben was never corrected for spouting dumb shit. He was out of his element, because no one was trying to kiss his ass there.
3 racemic_mixture 2016-06-28
This clip is a classic. Stupid Affleck gets emotional and then gets blown the fuck out. Full on "feels > reals" conversation in real life.
1 baraksobamas 2016-06-28
Brad Pitt looks like that because he has bruxism and bilateral masseteric hypertrophy.
12 ttnorac 2016-06-28
Lets just cancel the show with Larry Whitmore and replace Noah. Easy fix.
12 regis69 2016-06-28
I like that it backfired. The show has a self-loathing white American audience, so they thought a perfect host would be someone who's not white and not American. "He can criticize us for our terrible racist country! It'll be hilarious!" The show stopped being about comedy years ago. During Bush's Presidency Stewart defended the show against accusations of bias by saying they just attack the powers that be, which happened to be Republican at the time. Once Obama got elected they shifted to attacking Fox News or anyone else in the media who attacked the powers that be.

The article could have also mentioned: The Simpsons Saturday Night Live Opie and Jimmy
3 Tom_Stall 2016-06-28
It must be a terrible strain on the animators wrists to make Opie and Jimmy live. Is it on this Saturday?

Yeah, you're either funny or you're not. Stewart was, Noah ain't.
3 racemic_mixture 2016-06-28
That is definitely the main thing, but the direction of the show was becoming so far left politically in Stewart's final years that it wasn't even trying to be funny half the time. I used to look forward to the daily show in 2005 because it made fun of whoever was being an ass. 2015 daily show was making fun of (or trying to) "the right" exclusively even though there was plenty of fodder on both sides.
2 pickledpancreas 2016-06-28
Yeah, definitely too skewed and a tad too self-righteous. Still though, JS had the comedic sensibilities to pull it off and make it funny instead of in-your-face obnoxious. Noah tries too hard and it shows. IMO he takes himself more seriously that Stewart ever did.
1 pickledpancreas 2016-06-28
I don't mind when someone "leans" one way or the other but yeah, when it gets overwhelming it's a buzzkill IMO.
6 NortheastPhilly 2016-06-28
its not often an actual article gets posted here that we all agree on
6 __redruM 2016-06-28
So... We have to kill John Stewart?
6 morrock14 2016-06-28
Yes, kill the show. Also, let's kill linking to sites with paywalls.
5 CoolerKing37 2016-06-28
Hopefully Alyssa Rosenberg follows in the footsteps of Julius and Ethel.
12 TheScarletR 2016-06-28
you want her to COMMIT TREASON??!!!

5 imcrapyall 2016-06-28
Should've just rehired Craig Kilborn.
3 JohnnyHeadrats 2016-06-28
They should have brought back Craig, and brought back the original format. When the show was more about mocking the local news, and less about having important opinions on politics.
1 racemic_mixture 2016-06-28
I can watch someone mock local news anchors fucking up for eternity and never tire of it.
1 baraksobamas 2016-06-28

What does this cunt have against "bro jokes" wtf

Fucking faggot country.
3 FaggotBannedKeith 2016-06-28
Anthony lives and dies by twitter. For news, validation and it's the only place he can find dates now. The faggot even snuck in a tweet during rehab.
2 racemic_mixture 2016-06-28
That is pretty funny. I never really thought of it that way.
4 Jackthejew 2016-06-28
They should just flip the format. Have him out of nowhere take the conservative side on every issue. Make the audience boo and become uncomfortable multiple times a tap in and have huffpo and slate publish article after article about how he's the Devil (dvv dvv). That would at least shake things up.
1 Come_Honor_Cheeks 2016-06-28
Welcome to 2007, meet Stephen Colbert, he has this show called the Repor
4 [deleted] 2016-06-28
Trevor Noah and Larry Wilmore both suck as replacements for Stewart and Colbert.
Plus isn't Noah known for stealing jokes? Didn't he take a Chappelle bit word for word a couple of years ago?
10 bonniesretardsister 2016-06-28
Yes, he took the bit about polite racists from Killing Them Softly. I think he said he couldn't possibly have taken it because he didn't live in America when it came out in 2000. Like it hasn't been on You Tube for 10 years.
2 [deleted] 2016-06-28
I wonder if Jon Stewart was involved in picking his replacement? Cause if he did he picked someone who has no business doing the job and is killing the brand he helped build.
1 bonniesretardsister 2016-06-28
He didn't pick him, the executive who was recently fired did. It was a female so Noah probably fucked her to get the job.
6 whydontUlovemeLyndsi 2016-06-28
Erock where are we at with the race mixing?
2 plasticpaddy84 2016-06-28
Trevor just isn't very good at this
2 KingOfAllTrolls 2016-06-28
Also top gear
1 racemic_mixture 2016-06-28
I heard the new version blows but am yet to watch it. They should have renamed it. Everyone is going to be critical because what made the old top gear good was 90% the trio and about 10% cars.
2 Marathon_Man_3k 2016-06-28
The Daily Show was terrible when Stewart was there too
2 I_am_a_goddamn_liar 2016-06-28
1 nerdbayne 2016-06-28

1 jfral 2016-06-28
PFG tv has garnered more water cooler chatter than Daily Show circa Noah.
1 chriscrimson 2016-06-28
Well, I think it was more or less pointing out the absurdity of making fun of name changes. Again to poke fun at Trump for doing the exact same thing to people as he did Jon Stewart or how Bill O'Reilly did to Colbert with just the pronunciation of his name.
-1 [deleted] 2016-06-28
Progressivism eats itself. Not even the high priests are ever progressive enough
LOL
-2 DeafandMutePenguin 2016-06-28
Trevor Noah is the biggest kaffir to walk the earth.
-7 nazicumfarts 2016-06-28
Jon Stewart was an annoying wanker anyway. Who gives a shit if this mulatto is a hack? It's nothing new for a shitty show that liberal faggots love.
1 bonniesretardsister 2016-06-28
He didn't pick him, the executive who was recently fired did. It was a female so Noah probably fucked her to get the job.

Just when I thought I'd never watch The Daily Show again under any circumstances, I find the man who could call my bluff.
Well played.
3 free2game 2016-06-28
Trump's been in the public eye for so long that there's not a lot of jokes to make about him that haven't been done to death already.
