I never disliked Danny, but I think there's a whole host of reasons behind the Danny hate.

As a young, internet-savy, grumpy misanthrope, Danny was probably the nearest thing to an O&A listener on their staff, so a lot of listeners probably felt like they were equal to him or that they could do his job. People like the nut that showed up at Anythony's house were probably enraged by the notion of someone like Danny -- someone of the same caste -- associating with the staff and being a welcome guest at Anthony's house.

People probably saw him as arrogant or smarmy during his on-air confrontations with staff and guests but, most of the time, he was in the right; Patrice was a foolhardy idiot for thinking that phishing site had free movies on it and Steve C looked like a fool when he threatened Danny with physical violence on-air.

Yes, we all see just a little bit of ourselves in Danny Ross.
