Based on my speculation I believe it to be true.

I bet him and Ant had a drunken hook up and it totally screwed up their friendship.

If it turned out Ant was his crazy stalker because Danny dumped him it would make a lot of sense.

Next time on Danny and Anthony:

Danny tries but can't get it up to fuck a whore in a room of strangers. Anthony consoles him and accidentally professes his love. Danny's erectile dysfunction is immediately cured. They fall deeply for each other only to later find out that they are both alcoholics inside of a crowded closet so they break up.
