Why did Jim barely do characters around Patrice?

black people don't like that kinda ire-onic white shit

"William Stevenson, it was so funny, he was literally revulsed..."

With Uncle Paul I think it's because it worked best when he was allowed to get on a roll with it for 5 minutes and you could never get Patrice to stay quiet that long. For Chip I always thought he was afraid Patrice was going to point out how close Chip is to the real Jim Norton and ruin his "I'm edgy, maaaahn!" persona.

That was Colin

I don't remember him doing any of his characters in front of Burr either now that I think of it.

I remember a clip where bill burr was in studio and Jim broke into Uncle Paul one of the first times on the show.

no you just made a fool of yourself, now stop trying to worm your way out and take the punishment, idiot

Because Jim felt so comfortable around Patrice that he could just be himself.

On a somewhat related note one of my favorite things about Vos is that he's the only O&A regular who I've never heard acknowledge Chip.

That would be a good comp, Vos and Chip. I don't think he differentiates between Jimmy and Chip.

My guess is that Patrice called Jimmy out on using his characters far too often. In turn, that shamed Jimmy into doing them less in Patrice's presence.

Wasn't a need to do a character around Patrice. Seemed easier & more natural to just fuck around without having to use Chip.

Not like he never did it.

Because Patrice was a fat piece of shit and would Sherrod the entire bit.

Patrice was a fat piece of comedic gold.
