Opie's ex·as·per·a·tion.

I'm coming up on my one year anniversary of listening to the Opie show. I grew up a hard core Stern fan since 1989 but I have had to almost completely bail on him within the last 3 years. Because I was such a Stern fan, Opie and Anthony were the enemy. I knew nothing about them except that I was supposed to hate them for Stern. Last year out of complete boredom with Stern and podcasts I tuned into Opie and Jim and happened to catch Jim riffing as Chip and Uncle Paul. I thought he was hysterical. So ever since I've been listening steadily and reading the posts here. What I am still shocked by after almost a year is how dumb Opie is. The way he speaks is like what a person of normal intelligence might say right as you wake them up out of a deep sleep and ask them a question. I feel like I've never heard anyone have absolutely no opinions on any subject or contradict themselves the way this guy does. In just seconds he'll say something like "I haaaaate coffee cake" then Jim will say "Entenmann's is good" and then Opie will say "Yeah they're not bad, I loooooove coffee cake". It's fucking infuriating. But the thing that makes me cringe the most 30+ times a show is the exasperation in his voice. He does it over every subject that comes up. He will say almost any statement in an exasperated manner. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY! And adding THE to everything! Gotta love THE coffee cake. Gotta love THE Ricky Gervais. I looked Gregg Hughes up and celebritynetworth says he's worth 15 million. So he's gotta be smarter than me. I love Jimmy's characters and riffing though. I'm all in with the Jimmy. Period.

You most likely know more about the current state of the show than nearly everyone here. The show died in 2014, may it rest in peace.

Okay, terrific.

you have really bad instincts. why the fuck would you listen to them now.

What else is there? Give me some suggestions.

old o&a clips.

Old O&A and old Ron and Fez. Don't even bother with O&J, it's an entirely different show than the Opie and Anthony you first heard about when listening to Stern.

He's like a dumb high school teacher.
