Holy CHRIST. This was a really enjoyable listen EXCEPT for the CONSTANT irritant of Opie's incessant blurtings of "Right!" and "Yeah!" whenever Ant or Patrice would make a witty comment. We also get a rare example of an Opie "I Got the Bit!" moment here; he weaves his magic @ 01:20:36.
In 95% of his conversations Jimmy always comes off as desperate and needy. This is one of those conversations. Seriously, who the fuck cries over a declined picture with Ellen DeGeneres? Is Jim a 45 year old soccer mom?
I'd hate to see Jimmy's home. You know he has everyone of these pictures developed and enshrined in his place. Probably also got 50 different Black Sabbath and Ozzy posters, all autographed, stuck on the wall everywhere.
All 3 of them are children. It really dawned on me back when john Stewart announced he was leaving his show. The only conclusion the 3 of them could figure out was that he was jealous of all of the correspondents who went on to bigger things and was giving up. None of them could comprehend that maybe he actually prepared for his job a
nd was exhsusted, or had accomplished a goal and didn't want to coast, or just wanted a new challenge. They just could not think outside of their own worldview of laziness and pettiness.
Yeah, if they'd had some ambition maybe they wouldn't be floundering in their careers. They could've left SiriusXM and tried to jump start all of their careers and maybe do a podcast on their terms. But that would require too much self starting so they decided to stay where they are and keep collecting a check.
